First of all if you aren't into the gym and have some muscle yourself or a multi millionaire, then forget it.
I never managed it. Only found a girl that was already obsessed with the gym and had a bit of muscle, yes that route is much easier. But I did spark the motivation in a few girls. Your best options are: - inspire her to get jacked because of rising beauty trends (muscle mommy) that strong is the new skinny, muscles are essentially curves, thick thighs are in, but make the point that it is a good shift in womens beauty standards, compare to the size 0 craze in the 90s/00s. This is probs the hardest route.
physical health benefit route: convince her to build muscle because of the science that corretcly backs that having muscles helps reduce ageing all over and that it helps with mobility when older in terms of fighting muscle loss/joint issues. Also posture is a big one and the general usefullness that having pyshical strength brings etc.
mental health benefit route. Important to emphase that lifting is v good for mental health, not just exercise (you dont want her to turn into a cardio bunny lol). Mention that being physically strong particularly helps mental health, regular lifting routine adds structure in life- setting strength targets, healthy relationship with eating a healthy plentiful, high protein diet etc. This and the physical health benefit route are the best ways to inspire someone to workout
I'm well aware of the physical and mental benefits of lifting, being stronger is objectively better than being weaker, life is easier if you're strong. I just don't know what the odds are of communicating that to a girl. I used to go to the gym before the lockdown turned me into a lazy asshole lol. I would love to have a girl I could workout with, even a cardio bunny.
I did.
As the other poster said, its nearly impossible unless you are fully committed to the gym yourself.
To answer your question as to how:
Wife and I have been together since 2014.
I was getting ready to finish grad school in 2018 and my plan was always to start competing in bodybuilding once I had a real job and could afford a coach, gear, food, labs, everything to do it correctly.
I had asked her to train with me several times prior, but always got shut down. It was around this time though we started getting in arguments about not spending enough time together. My day consisted of class, work, gym, study for boards.
That is when I explained the gym was always going to be my priority. I explained besides aesthetic purposes, I wanted to be able to lift a case of water in the car and get off the toilet unassisted when we are 70. I suggested she start coming to the gym with me and we could spend 2 hours together.
Eventually she caved in, but wanted to hire a trainer to show her how to do exercises properly. Lucky for me, the trainer she hired also did contest prep coaching. When I mentioned I wanted to compete, he ended up talking her into let him coach her as well.
About 2 months later, she was on anavar lol.
Its been 4 years since then, we have yet to do a show, between covid and wanting to get kids out of the way before we compromised fertility. We have done a powerlifting meet though.
Now that we are done with kids (got snipped) , as soon as the youngest is off the tit, it will be go time.
She has already asked if she should stop breastfeeding early because she wants to get labs done and hop on a real cycle lol.
The hardest part is just convincing women to get started, but once they actually get in a gym and start lifting and seeing results, they will fall in love with it
I’ve done and am doing it but it takes A LONG ass time to build muscle.
Saying the obvious out loud, but without gear you won’t see her posted on here for at least a few years

Getting massively jacked would take forever, but the first results of training would be noticable very soon, plenty of natural girls on here that have trained for less than a year. I'm not gonna convince a girl to go on gear.

Who are some “natural” girls on here who have trained for less than a year?

Angela Radu for example, she had defined muscles at the age of 14, I don't think she was working out for more than a year or was taking gear. I also don't know if pictures of a 14 year old girl should even be on this site, lol.
But, if a 14 year old kid could get muscle definition in under a year, a grown woman should be able to get it too.

Using the women here as a template for physiques that most women "should be able to get" shows a pretty unrealistic perspective. That's like showing a person elite level CrossFit athletes at the Games and saying that that is what all CrossFitters look like and that those workouts are the exact kinds that they all do. Sites like this represent the .01% of the .01%. That also goes along with how many influencers, fitness athletes and models downplay or straight up deny PED-use when it is VERY common in those worlds. I am not familiar with Angela, but you have no idea what her training looks like, what her athletic background was, or if she was on PEDs. And yes, even very young people have used PEDs (there was a semi-prominent powerlifter in the late aughts named Melody Melo who was pulling incredible numbers for a woman as young as she was, but she later admitted she was on steroids since she was 12.)
As someone who has been into lifting for many years (and has competed), I not only know what are realistic results for lifting over the course of years, but also how prominent drug use is in fitness circles. Building muscles naturally is HARD, and when you are a woman, it is that much harder. I know women who are very consistent and dedicated with their training, and have been lifting for years, but don't look close to even the smaller women on this site because they don't use drugs. And while of course there is nothing wrong with a site like this that showcases almost exclusively "enhanced" physiques, it can lead to unrealistic expectations on what is truly achievable as a natty athlete from people who have no background and little knowledge of exercise physiology. And when it comes to questions like "how do I get my unathletic/out of shape partner into lifting?" what's going to happen when a year from now, assuming you are lucky enough to get them into training consistently and hard, they don't look anything close to the women on this site? Also, influencers also lie about the timeframes is took them to reach their physiques, and like I mentioned earlier, if you take someone who already has an athletic background and compare them to someone who has always been unathletic and out of shape, and have them start a program at the same time, you shouldn't be surprised that the first person gets more prominent results than the second.
But to answer your original question, the simple answer is to not date someone who is completely out of shape and has no interest in lifting in the first place when you clearly know that her "starting point" is one that you are completely unattracted to. Dating someone as a "project" is honestly pretty shitty. You should focus on dating people who are athletic or are into training, and to encourage them to lift more, you need to also be the example and lift as well. If you have no interest in dedicated and hard lifting yourself, it's pretty hypocritical to expect and want your SO to do the very things that you don't want to.

I used to know a girl that had very nice arms basically just from working hard in a factory, she definitely wasn't on gear or anything, she was also smoking and drinking on top of that, so I know that naturally strong women do exist.
I know it would be better to find a girl that already lifts, but these are much more difficult to hook up with, I have much better chances of finding one that's not in shape and convincing her to go to the gym with me.

I agree. In the majority of cases people tend to want to be with someone that shares similar interest.
I will also add I did get my wife into lifting, but she told me years later she had always wanted to compete in bikini. Something I said early in our relationship, scared her off (guess I said something to pretend I wasn't into muscular women).
Its also not the reason we started dating. I would have never suggested it, if we didn't get to a point where it was tough to spend time together
Yes it’s important to lead by example and consistently lift yourself and also have a decent diet. Emphasize that this is a non negotiable core value. Also it’s important to develop a relationship with someone who is already athletic and inclined to adopt a lifestyle around regular training. Although this site features muscular women there is a very wide range of physiques. Some achievable naturally through regular (progressive) training, diet and genetics and many other physiques that can only be achieved with training, diet and pharmaceuticals. Most guys into buff women IRL will be very content with naturally achieved results.
I know there are a lot of people on this forum that have muscular (or at least toned) girlfriends and wifes. I wanted to ask how many of you managed to convince your other half to start lifting and how did you do it?
Is it easier to start dating a strong girl that already lifts or date a skinny one and then get her to go to the gym with you?
