I think we ought to hold a vote on some of these tags then, because there’s many who disagree.
I have a suggestion for a model tag that’s extremely broad but important: “brown.” It’s not a race, but even within races/ethnicities like mestiza/mixed latinas, amerindians, west, central and south Asians, aboriginals, some Africans, and hell even some Europeans, there are tons of skin color variations. Even racial and ethnic tags alone can’t account for those. The same way there are white or pale latinas there are also brown latinas and etc. This is pretty important to account for. A dark-skin tag would also be nice but it’d probably overlap a lot with “black”, “brown” is more specific. We could also add a “pale” or “light skin” tag specifically for women who are light-skinned but come from ethnic groups that are mostly black/brown and not considered white Europeans.
Not around here. A woman 5-7 would be more of medium height. Tall would be at least 5-10. 5-9 if you wanted to push it. I get Tamarok's point. You see people and I disagree....not the people around here. It is somewhat subjective. Maybe a 6 foot plus tag or something if you guys need it so badly. 5-7 would be so many girls.
I’d say 172 cm / 5'8 and up or 178 cm / 5'10 and up is universally considered tall. Within places or groups where most people are tall, they’d generally identify as tall people with slightly shorter people in their groups as being only relatively shorter but still taller than most.

My general rule is if you show a picture and 9/10 agree whether a tag works, then it’s probably a good enough tag. If a tag turns into a vote every time it is used, then is likely a poor tag. Since we don’t have a written definition what any given tag means, then people will likely interpret it as they wish when it comes to weak tags. Even some of the better tags can have room for interpretation, based on our culture and language.
I’ve found myself disagreeing with some of them, but I’ll accept the ruling from a higher authority (Chainer).
The race related ones can indeed get messy. For example is a mixed race (white European mixed with black African) considered black, white or brown? As for latinas, is a pure South American native considered a Latina or a Japanese woman born in Brazil. I don’t claim to have answers here and I am undecided, but there still seems to be a better consensus here than “tall”.
By the way, “fitness model” should be a model tag. Despite how redundant it could sound, it is a specific form of modeling that many women here do. I also think pornstar should be renamed to expand to “sex worker” or something related to include cam girls, OF creators, etc.
It already is.
Edit: no it wasn’t. I was thinking figure/fitness, which now makes wonder whether we should be merging?

My keyboard has been messed up, this took a while. Lecture incoming:
A mixed white-black woman is usually considered black. I’ve tagged a few biracial black-white women with both tags, but part of me feels somewhat confused. I guess it’s harmless though, creating a single tag for those women is unnecessary as making one that describes both race/ethnicity and nationality like the kinda redundant “Asian American” tag (race, ethnicity, and nationality are all different things. The first two can be connected, but the last one doesn’t work for people from multiethnic/multiracial nations,).
Latina is an ethnicity rather than a race, partly linked to nationality. Any person of any race or ethnicity can be Latina, usually if they’re raised in Latin America or are born to Latino parents. So yeah, a Japanese lady raised in Brazil is Latina. The topic of “purity” is difficult, because most Latinos are mixed with large demographics of exceptions. The history of that is in the colonial racial caste system called “casta.” The incorrect and stereotypical idea of latinas which I think most users are following usually fits criollas (white Europeans born in the Americas) and mestizas (mixed Amerindian and white). While it could be tempting to make a mestiza or criolla tag, I think it could be redundant (we have mixed race/multiracial and white or European already, though mestizos are arguably distinct from most mixed-race/multiracial people which complicates things) and unethical to insert the subject of the caste on this site. Identifying models by race, ethnicity, and nationality is fine, but implicitly keeping the casta system and its weird race science alive is not. Race is a social construct but a useful one. On this site it streamlines the search for the women of those races we resonate with. I’m a POC so I’m especially insistent on making it useful for me and fellow women of color enthusiasts.
The last point is about Indigenous people. I’m a bit embarrassed that I’m making this point on this site of all places, but there’s a pretty common misconception of what being Indigenous (the capital I is important) is and isn’t. There are several definitions but it’s easier to define what it’s not: a race. Indigeneity is a global concept describing being a person/people connected to land /a land-based community and being in a power dynamic with settler-colonists. There are Indigenous people worldwide of all races. It doesn’t just describe Native Americans, who aren’t a race but Indigenous people (by the definition I just described) whose land-based communities are in the American continents. Unfortunately the most reliable word for describing phenotypical Indigenous Americans is “Amerindian” or “NDN.” It can be tempting to cite many brown mestiza latinas as Indigenous/Native Americans based on their skin, but that misses the point of indigeneity. Without that context and connection, many brown mestizas are just…brown. And even then, although Latin America is still racist/colorist towards black and Indigenous people (especially the women sadly) brown skin alone is common. Usually the bigotry is targeted at those who are overtly Amerindian with associated ethnic features (different among various communities) or anyone who is openly Indigenous, though paler natives do get targeted less).
That’s the complicated definition of Indigeneity. An Indigenous tag that could include people like “aboriginal” austronesians of Oceania and others could work. I think the Native American tag is fine but people are clearly misinterpreting the definition.
Besides what I said, I think it’s time for an Iraqi tag. Both Marnie Al-Saraf and Nebras Hayek are Iraqi. Mariem Aloui and Malika Zitouni are both Algerian so Algerian needs to be a tag as well A Senegalese tag for Ndeye Ndour would also be appreciated
I’ve also noticed that some competitors reside in Dubai, probably as naturalized citizens. There are also homegrown citizens like Samar Al Moukayed. So Emirati should be added too.
These next two propositions could be controversial: I noticed an Assyrian girl on this site and want to upgrade the tag. Assyrians are an Indigenous Mesopotamian ethnoreligious (like Copts, they’re Christian) group. As for the other, this is complex, but Judaism is an ethnoreligion. It’s both an ethnicity and a religion. I propose “Jewish” as an ethnicity tag specifically for ethnically Jewish models.
Cosplayer should be a model tag for women who make it or parts of it their schtick, like Olivia Swaida, Alicia Rancier, and Alicia Marie Ballanger.
> > Because "tall" is a an adjective, and relative. Models tags are usually nouns.
People generally consider 170cm / 5'7 and taller to be tall. Making it one saves tons of time.
Saves YOU tons of time and ignores my point and the Mods/others replies so far. And voting is a really bad way of setting model tags as well.

Adding the tall tag to each individual photo of a tall model is really not worth the hassle. You gonna pitch in for that task?
Both Marnie Al-Saraf and Nebras Hayek are Iraqi.
According to this...overabundance of Tags, she's:
Talk about identity crisis! XD

- "posing" (as in, competition posing, which she's not - it's a photoshoot)

I’ve noticed this on some of the models and I am wondering the best way to deal with this. I’m debating whether some of these regional (non-country ones) are worth keeping as a whole?

If I may...I'd stick with the country she was born. F.E., I recall Loren Calderoni being tagged "Italian" - she's now correctly tagged "American".

In regards to the model tags, all of that is actually true. Her instagram is simply nebrashayek, and there it says she’s an Iraqi/Egyptian immigrant to the US.

This isn’t always verifiable information. And even if you can verify it, what do you do with someone born in the Philippines to Chinese parents who moves to Canada when she is five years old? That’s not really an unusual scenario.
Trying to disentangle race, ethnicity, and nationality using the tagging system here is quite an ambitious project. You’re literally up against site users who don’t know the difference between English and British.

But does she hold American nationality, or is she simply a resident? I don’t think we care about where they live, as opposed to nationality or race.
As I've said before - this idea to tag models by "races" is leading nowhere. If you like black girls, asian looking girls, whites etc. do you really need a tag to find them? I assume you'd have your favourite models already, just subscribe to them and you'll be happy!
Again, there are over 1.7 million uploads on the site, and over 800,000 different named models. I wish people would stop making dumb arguments that act as though it's some small collection of a few thousand pics, where it's easy to look through all of them to find what you want.
It's fine for people to be able to find whatever types of pics they like or are in the mood for, as long as they're suitable for the site. My only issue with the ethnicity tags is that some of the current ones can get overly-granular and probably need to be merged.
