I had to narrow this list down to 10 names. Factors that I considered are general popularity, competition placement and the fact that they need to have competed in women's bodybuilding at a pro level. I threw in a few newer names to see how they stack up against some of these (often considered) all time greats.

Obviously there are several names missing. You're more than welcome to fill us in with your comment below.

Hard to pick 24 years is a long time maybe alyesha young or Heather armburst or Cindy landolt it's hard to pick one that is truly perfect. out of this list I picked Kristina mendoza because she is very attractive. I wanted to pick lenda Murray but I thought she was more active in the 90s.

Cindy landolt

She's never competed in women's bodybuilding as I described in the original post.

I wanted to pick lenda Murray but I thought she was more active in the 90s.

Her last competition was in 2004 when she was arguably at her peak condition.

I don't know what Denise Masino is doing on this list, and Juliette Bergman isn't. Wtf.

If you're talking about Bergman she won the Olympia lightweight from 2001 to 2003 inclusive, and the overall in 2001. Masino won nothing apart from the minor night of the champions, and never came close in the Olympia.

Andrea, obviously. HUGE, symmetrical, beautiful, and the classiest lady in the sport since Lenda.

Iris is the most decorated, but Andrea might wind up with more titles eventually. She combines size and aesthetics in a way Iris never could.

Thought Alina would get more love here πŸ˜”

I think recency bias plays a big factor. She's my number 1 from that list. Her muscle control is unmatched from that list, and had the best legs and glutes.

Shaw is so overrated. Looks so average to me. Of the ones in the poll Yaxeni is far more my kind of bb. When she was in great shape unbeatable. Alina is a close second.

Not sure if you're just talking from a looks preference perspective, but from a pure bodybuilding perspective and the judging of the sport (which I also enjoy) she truly is one of one. The muscle belly shape, her symmetry, she always comes in so well conditioned, but still so full, no real body weak points. From the sports perspective she truly is amazing.

I know she's a more recent arrival, but what about Nataliya Kuznetsova ??

The question is: Who is the greatest FBB of this century so far?

There is just one answer possible, Iris Kyle. She won 10 times the miss Olympia. Nine times in a row. As long as another woman doesn't win for at least 5 times in a row this title she can't claim the goat of this century.

That's according to the judges, and what do they know?

Recency bias is wild. Iris Kyle was insane.

I think Angie has the best FBB proportions that I've ever seen. She's a perfect balance of massive and aesthetic.

Kristina has my heart. I think she's beautiful and she's most likely a better bodybuilder than Angie, but wasn't born with the same genetics for Angie's frame.

Not responding to anyone in particular, just clearing up a few things based on the comments here so far...

You'll notice I didn't define "greatest" in my post. I just left that up to the users. If you feel like greatness is based purely on accolades, then objectively it would be between Iris Kyle and Lenda Murray. However, if your definition of "great" with regards to a female bodybuilder is something more subjective, then it becomes more a matter of personal opinion. I provided a varying mix in here that would appeal to both.

Yaxeni is there because if not for Iris and Lenda, she'd be a solid contender in the accolades category. But she could also appeal greatly to those who simply prefer her physique. Helle would IMO be just a step under Yaxeni with her accolades, but her long-spanning career is quite impressive. Denise Masino is there because, while she hasn't ever won an Olympia, she's competed in several and she also happens to be one of (if not the most) prolific FBB online before the social media boom.

Andrea, Angela, Kristina, and Anastasia are part of a younger generation, which I wanted to provide to see how they weigh against these legacy FBB's (which I mentioned in the original post). And finally Alina (similar to Denise) had a huge online presence, and coupled with her stellar bodybuilding career, also has some of the most amazing muscle control I've ever seen. Sure, if I could have added more names, I would have. But these are the 10 I chose.

I think that's fair. I don't go by accolades, but by women who can transend bodybuilding and bring more eyes into the sport. For me Alina Popa and Denise Masino always had raw sex appeal on top of their muscle. Arnold brought eyes into the sport through his acting career. I think the more women fbbs who can become good embassadors outside of the sport could bring more potential eyes, better prize money, and just overall more respect. The Sexier the muscle women, the better. I think Denise and Alina are good examples of those.
