So is this really that bad where some of you can't detach your fantasies in a movie theater? Are you really going to go Pee Wee Herman in there? Lol come on, now
lmao
I like bodybuilding and I loved watching movies with Schwarzenegger, Ferrigno, etc... but we never got to see the same with women, they always picked skinny (like, really) women to portray "strong female characters", which doesn't make sense imho.
They tried to, to some extent. The only few I can recall is Cynthia Rothrock, who was supposed to be the female Chuck Norris:
Same with Rachel McLish, Sue Price (oh, those "Nemesis" movies), or Gina Carano in a few "kick / choke everyone around" flicks lately. Goes without saying that none of them excelled in the acting department, but delivered what they had been asked for.
About this one movie...I'm gonna watch it as soon as I can, and I'm more than eager to do it, but let's remember it is a fetish movie...but not for us XD It has plenty of stuff "modern" movies must have:
2 Female protagonists, in a "Girl Powah" mode...in a relationship.
Both of them in the "tomboy" department.
And one of them looks mixed race to boot.
So yeah, we're just...collateral beneficiaries.
Well, yeah, the movie has its woke stuff, but I'm not watching for the plot anyway, so who cares, go buff girl đź—ż

I remember her! Tbh I wouldn't even call it an attempt, comparing her to Schwarzenegger would be unfair.
It's crazy how Hollywood still refuses to propose more character and relationship variety.
Action movies? Superjacked dude, tough male cop or martial artist. Romance? Super strict gender roles, gaze, camera angles, body standards, etc... Same thing with adventure movies.
And every time there's a female character who looks/behaves outside these tropes she's either a side character, dies or has literally 0 hint of romance.
But things are slowly changing, we're slowly starting to see some variety, I don't see this as a fetish movie tbh, lesbian thriller/romance movie? With good actors and an original script?
I feel like lots of people are going to enjoy it, finally something different, "girl powah" with good plot and romance? Sign me in, we've already got too many John Wicks, Rambos or Thors.
i thought double impact was a good 90s early action movie with Corey everson as a villain .she looked very great while fighting not 1 but 2! jean clade vandammes and dominating until someone showed up with a gun and the 2 vandammes were able to defeat her. but fbbs were never the main character apart from in some really cheesy z tier movies like the nemesis movies the first few tried to be normal but the last one was basically made by shmoes for shmoes and is really soft porn with a story she was nude for most of the movie .the movie was so low budget it looked more like a theatre play than a movie in some scenes . i can't even think of any fbbs in 2000s movies seems like it was only a thing in the 90s and late 80s and again in the last few years .

This is the character that made me fall in love with woman’s muscle. She was hot af in that movie. Her and Cynthia Rothrock, and Rosie Odonnel
Just saw the movie in an early screening. I really like A24 films and bodybuilding, so watching it was a no brainer. It is a good movie with some very sexy scenes all throughout and some people will enjoy the ending as it scratches a specific adjacent itch (I’ll be ambiguous as I don’t want to spoil anything). However, if you are expecting a very bodybuilding focused movie, I’m sorry to disappoint you but it isn’t. It’s a good and entertaining thriller that just happens to have a FBB that wants to compete in a show as a protagonist. I’ll give it a 4/5 as a movie

Are there many muscle growth scenes?
I found a few critics video so far on YT. Mentions are made of two really gory scenes (something I really don’t care about) and another mentioned a recurring “body horror” element, which I take as a even more of a hint of recurring muscle growth stuff.
Doesn't surprise me that normal people consider female muscle growth as body horror, and admittedly when browsing fetish content I've always felt sad that 2 to 12 pages isn't really enough to explore what it means not only to be a muscle girl, but to suddenly become one and deal with the way peoples' view of you will change, including friends, fetishists, and non-fetishists. I wish I could talk to a muscle girl about all of these, but I know as a fetishist my throat is going to freeze up at the excitement of being in her company and losing my ability to even speak.

This is about what I was expecting, wasn’t necessarily anticipating any theatrical released film to play like an FMG novel or comic, which is why the tease of those surrealist growth scenes in the trailers was incredibly surprising to me. Still excited; I think Rose Glass has a good cinematic sensibility.
I scrubbed through a bootleg version of the movie online. Most of the muscle growth shots from the trailer are all you see in the movie. Unless I skipped over something, you're not going to see anything hardcore like out of a DeviantArt comic.
