I don't think it's a turn on per se, but I think it can make someone more appealing if they enjoy the same things you do. Replace "gun" with something else. Suppose someone likes high end cars, and Vladislava Galagan. They might like pictures of Vladislava Galagan driving a Bugatti.
I do think that firearms are slightly different in one way. Being proficient with them (and not just blasting paint cans on the weekend) is a skill building exercise. Being competent at something difficult is attractive in it's own way.

This is accurate for me- I don't care about the guns themselves, but I find capability in general attractive, so any videos that demonstrate some skill the better. I spent a number of years in the infantry, so this is something where I can accurately judge their ability, and also compare it to my own.
In media where the gun is ornamental/decoration only, I don't find it adds anything to the image- and if it's obvious the woman is unfamiliar with handling a weapon, then I would probably describe the photo as more silly than sexy. From my experience though, I can tell you I have met some dudes who just got turned on by guns. They usually were not eloquent in their responses, so I can't give much insight why, but they exist for sure.
Speculating, but as I find capable, empowered women attractive, I think I can understand someone who associates a weapon with power finding the presence attractive in that it would add to that aura.
