2022 Ms Olympia

100% agree. Her physique is nowhere near balanced enough for a top 5 placing.

If Michaela doesn't get the message now, she never will. Maybe Michelle Jin is not as thick as Michaela but she has better symmetry and could have placed 7th or 8th.

I didn't realize that Leyvina would be competing in BBing but her recent size explosion makes total sense now.

She got smoked though. Her fellow Brazilian though did well for her first MsO. Surprised with Irene Andersen though.

Maybe in a year or two, Leyvina will be a force to be reckoned with.

There's such a disparity between the top five and most of the other girls that, after thinking about it, I could understand the argument for a lightweight division. Ladies like Asha Hadley, Reshanna Bowell, and MayLa Ash just can't build the same amount of mass as an Andrea Shaw or Angela Yeo. But, I don't know if they'd do well in the Physique category, either.

Wait, what does that mean? What message is the world's #7 supposed to get?

Many believed she played politics to win the Olympia

How do you define "played politics"?

I'm so happy for Yeo. This achievement could not have happened for a nicer person. I love it when good people get a good, well-earned result.

My guess is that she needs to stop focusing on building upper body mass. Although, I figured her top-heavy physique had more to do with genetics.

Angela Yeo came close to Andrea but didn't realize Andrea was told to tone down her physique. Would’ve loved seeing how Andrea was going to improve from last year.

If Andrea got any bigger, I don’t think it would have been as close. She would have cleared EVERYONE like she did last year.

She wants to be #1 and that's the difference. She wasn't happy with 6th place last year and repeated that this year. Whether or not Michaela can even achieve the symmetry needed (lower legs) remains to be seen. I'll give you that she had a good showing this year but she must realize what's holding her down in the eyes of the judges.

but i think also she likes to train how she likes to train, and her upper body responds accordingly. she woul dhave to stop all training.

her placing is basically capped, to me. Margie leaving opens a slot, but you figure the top three might have a few more years in, and some women moving up from WPD and also improvements from the rest of the division (to me Branka was out of nowhere at 5th). She finished 6th two years in a row. Two women came out of nowhere and pushed Mona out to change the top 5, one of them wasn't even in the division until this year. there's no guarantee that Margie retiringmeans that Michaela has a shot at 5

I thought she looked a little smaller.

I can't imagine Helle has that many years left. She's been competing for 20+ years now.

Although Helle always amazes, her best years are behind her. She's just maintaining the great physique she's already got at this point.

I ain't really into the drama, but...IG stories producing some of the best shade ever tonite. 😲🙊😂

Uh oh. What's up?

Helle can still compete unless she has health issues. I mean Irene Andersen is 10 years older than her

Is this about Alyssa Kiessling's story where she is saying people clowned on her for placing outside top 10 last year but those people didn't place inside the top 10 this year? even though she wasn't even there at all? LMAO

Honestly... I think Michaela should have placed higher. I had her at 4th with 5th being worst case. I don't see what some of yall are talking about with symmetry. Yes her calves are genetically always going to be an issue but her quads/hamstrings more than make up for that in my opinion. I don't see her ever placing first with Andrea ruling the show rn but (and this will undoubtedly turn some heads) I honestly don't think her upper body is big enough.

Outside of her calves I think Michealas lower half is plenty big if not disproportionately so to her upper body now. To get to second (which I think is reasonable) she needs to grow wider up top to create a more visually encapsulating V-Taper but the most prominent muscle group she needs too improve outside of calves is her chest. It's so prominently disproportionate as of right now as I see it. If you look at Andrea for instance, her chest is so voluminous to match her V-Taper (which isn't even as good Micheala's if you ask me) but it matches and also enunciates it so well.

Bottom line. Michaela can take 2nd if not 1st if she finds a way to grow her calves, grow her chest and grow slightly wider up top to complete her V-Taper. If she does that I think it's a done deal.

Part of her issue is her height and size. She has short arms, and is the shortest one there. Eventually you lose the aesthetics as she just piles on size.

Dec 18, 2022 - edited Dec 18, 2022 - permalink

Saying what message is the world #7 supposed to receive is just...misleading - #7 in such a small lineup and such a small scene is basically just last.. really. No one really cares about outside top 3.. lets be serious.

Also Michaela just doesn't have the genetics for all around symmetry - yes her upper body is huge, but that's where drugs usually build up the most (the most androgen receptors are there etc), and she's on a pile of them

She's overcome a ton with brute force training, but eventually genetics just catches up to everyone. - her physique simply doesn't 'flow' nicely...

And to the people above saying íf she can find a way to grow calves or legs or etc... its not happening now if it hasn't happened already lol.

That's what I'm saying. She's got good muscle, but her structure is awkward compared to other competitors.

I believe in Michaela however foolish it may be. She's got that dawg in her

The way I look at it, I’d you’re already considered one of the best, aka you’re confident you make first call outs, everyone else is irrelevant. the size of the class only matters when you’re at the bottom of it. “I came in 16th in a stacked class of 30” well ya didn’t do to good.

So if you think you’re going to make top 10 that’s your bar. Outside is a failure. 6th is bottom half. I don’t even think there should be awards for 4th or 5th.
