I know times are changing, slowly. But I still think the average man would be embarrassed to be beaten by a woman at any strength related contest. Or am I totally out of touch?
I don't think it's as embarrassing to as many men as it may once have been.
You're probably right that the majority of men would be embarrassed. Though there are a lot of guys who are secure enough in themselves to accept it if a woman with better technique and/or more strength beat them in an AW match. Then you have a small percentage of guys like us who actually enjoy it and find it sexy. We're out there. I would estimate we make up more than 1% of the population for sure. Then you have guys somewhere in between who might be both embarrassed, but surprise themselves by also being kind of turned on by it. Sexuality and fetishes are a spectrum of course...
Personally, I enjoy it. But it could also be embarrassing, depending on the girl. If a young girl smaller than me who doesn't look especially strong beat me, I'm not going to lie, I'd be embarrassed if anyone else saw it happen... but I'd still enjoy it. Never had that happen, but I have had two smaller, younger girls who didn't look especially strong really surprise me and make me work much harder than I thought I would have to hahahaha.

Does anyone know who the girl on the right is, in the final clip (9:00)?

I mean, it's somewhat natural to be embarassed by being beaten by the biologically weaker sex, especially in arm wrestling, which focuses on upper body strength. This will sound like a fantasy story, but I remember how hard it hit me the first time, seeing videos of Sarah Backman destroy guys that couldn't even move her arm 1 inch, it was hot, but so emasculating at the same time. I felt so crushed by the display of strength that I literally got depressed over it. It's like my male ego was so hurt I couldn't get myself together for days, even though it wasn't even me who lost to her, but seeing what happened to all the guys, I kept having that thought "I would have been helpless too" and I couldn't shake it off. After getting over it things got back to normal, but losing to girls in aw still feels special.

I don't understand why you'd find it so emasculating? Backman is huge for a girl and has literally dedicated her life to being good at armwrestling. Of course the average guy isn't going to stand a chance. But if those guys had like a month of armwrestling training, many of them could probably beat her.
It's likely more emasculating for Backman to be beaten by untrained guys.

That was years ago, when she was much smaller and younger.
Assuming all else is equal, would it be more advantageous to have a longer or shorter arm than your opponent?
Longer forearm has the advantage for sure
I would. Not because I want to win or lose, but just to feel the power in her arm.
Yeah thank you liesbeth, great informtion. Do you ever consider posting recent biceps pics?
