I think so because Instagram does not support photo quality above 1080 pixel width by 1350 pixels tall for portrait photo. And here is a photo 1440 pixel width by 1800 pixels tall which was most likely done with the help of a program or neural network
I double-checked and yes there is such an opportunity to download photos in higher resolution. My question can be removed.

Agreed bro, same thing happened with me also. Once I posted Erika Darago's original video, and they merged it into its enhanced version.
See the post date and the date of the first comment, you will come to know that they merged it into AI enhanced video
Yeah, Instagram often has 1440x1800 version of photos available on their servers now, depending on how you download them. I believe in a lot of cases they're just internal resizes of the 1080x1350 etc originals and not actually any better quality, so if you upload a 1440px version and someone else uploaded a 1080px one earlier and there's no discernable difference, yours might still lose out in the merge.

Is... this supposed to be a joke? The version that was kept is the 640x480 original, yours seems to be resized and was 1024x1222, which isn't even a real standard resolution and implies some cropping. If I wanted to dig into the metadata I could probably find out what video editor you or someone else hamhandedly used, too.

First of all, all video editors are paid, and i don't use any software for that, for sure i used screen recorder cuz it was not downloading from insta saver, that's why I put the screen recorded version. And if this is the case where you prefer original version, then do this for all the guys who just upscale the photo and you prefer the enhanced version. Here we go again

Checkout the original resolution, the photo i uploaded was the original one( 1275 × 1080), but the photo which was choosen is of 1440×1700, which is definitely the enhanced one. If you guys say you prefer original one, just do it for all the post, please, it's a humble request
In thread by cgsweat says that "AI Enhanced" images will always lose in a merge and We prefer an original image from a trusted source (primarily a model or photographer's social media page). And my quastion is why original upload of Melindas photo was merged by AI enhanced duplicate ? Can someone explain me that please ?
You are correct and the merge has been reversed. As I stated in the original thread, 1440x1800 vs 1080x1350 presents a negligible difference in quality and so it should go to whoever uploaded first, which in this case is yosik.
