CONGRATULATIONS to Tempp and a BIG thank you

Went over 200,000 uploads today to the site.

Does tempp have special privileges?  I always refer to his uploads as "tempp dumps" because everyday it floods the site with about 100 uploads.  Much, much more than a typical user is allowed.

Yes. This was given a long time ago to tempp and a small handful of other users (who are no longer active). This was back when I was the only one approving pics from the queue (around 2009 or 2010, there was no direct uploading) and I observed that with tempp's pics (and the other users) I was almost always just rubberstamping yes, because they were exactly the kind of pics I was looking to have on the site. So as a shortcut to save myself time I made it so these users could upload directly to the site, bypassing the queue, with no limit.

I haven't given other users this ability since then (except mods, who implicitly have it of course, as they can approve their own pics). Meanwhile tempp has kept up the same upload quality (kudos to him, he must spend crazy amounts of time finding pics at his upload rate) so I have not had any reason to change it.

Regarding the "tempp dumps," I've learned to avoid them when I'm uploading one of my few hundred pictures. And he/she almost always gives a first name, which makes it easy to link up with other pictures of the same models.

There are several other prominent posters/uploaders; who I won't name here; who usually can't be bothered with providing names, even though the upload screen specifically asks. Sometimes the model can be recognized. But I do get tired of doing their work for them. So, unless the picture is super good, I no longer score those pictures.

I never realized he was a real person and not a bot or something. This amount of work is  just astounding. Has anyone ever talked to him?

I figured tempp was a bot, or something, too. It doesn't seem to engage with this site, other than to upload images.

Not difficult to do when you're given his privileges. Now the hard part is is getting him to put a full name to his uploads, which again, is really not difficult to do. I don't know how many times I've tried to make sure I'm not uploading a duplicate, only to have the image already be on the site, but I wasn't able to find it because someone didn't give it a name or only a first name. So I kinda stopped checking as diligently for dupes before I upload and leave it up to the moderators to find them since no one seems to care the time I waste searching and uploading pics that are already there but no one cared label.

At least his pics are identifiable and it can be sorted out who it is, but if I can get in one small pet peeve regarding naming, there are a few people here who need to learn how to use the shift key. It's really not that hard to capitalize names when you're typing them in the field.

nevertheless, i'll also express my gratitude and congratulations to Tempp for their remarkable consistency as a prolific contributor to the site! this place probably wouldn't be the same without them.

Since tempp only ever posted images (more than anyone else) and never commented on any of them, I'd thought that tempp was actually an account shared by several people, rather than just one individual.

So I guess HalfKorean is now in charge of "sorting out" the so called identifiable pics of tempp's. Or maybe tempp could slow down, still have 150,000 or so posts but use the rest of that time to add the girls name. Now that would be something.

One question though, No Caps in a name peeves you but not unnamed pictures... So seems you'd be happier with all pics un-named rather than having correct names without caps???

I appreciate Tempp and his contributions, but I don't understand him. He spends so much time ripping instagram and posting here, but never talks to the community.

He is in fact a real person, not a bot: back when PM's weren't private (anyone could see messages posted by others), I saw him leave messages to the mods about some technical issues.

why have we now decided that reticence should be taken as a masquerade? talking to the community (such that it is) has never been a requirement (or even an advisable recommendation) as far as i'm concerned. whomever Tempp is probably simply wants to share their enthusiasm for GWM without compromising their mental health in the process, and i find nothing pretentious about that.

It is just my opinion. It's a common trend for power users to maintain a consistent appearance of sorts, and then be hesitant to change anything for fear of being seen as downgrading their image.

In a way, people like Tempp may see their "mysterious" aura as having some kind of appeal that they have proudly maintained for years, and thus deliberately never interacts on the account or even changes his naming convention.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tempp has an alt account that he uses for chatting. This kind of behavior is very common on online communities.

it's still a complete speculation whether or not that happens to be true. as before, they don't benefit much from interacting directly with the community so there isn't much incentive for them to try, especially if assuming that your sockpuppet alt theory is invalid.

Well, he doesn't get paid to upload. Clearly he derives satisfaction in contributing to this site in some form.

Often people who contribute content inherently want approval of sorts from the community they are interacting with (otherwise, why not just keep the pictures to yourself?). Such people almost always end up talking to the same community, as they clearly are interested in contributing to it.

In any case, what I posted was just my theory. I've seen that exact scenario play out more than once, and it's the most logical explanation I can think of. Simply posting here doesn't have to come at the expense of mental health or anything like that.

that's not what i said though, is it? besides, i'm more interested underlining my appreciation for what they've added to the site than i am in any faux-psychoanalysis into whatever motivates their involvement. why would it matter if what they're doing is interpreted as some convoluted power play if what they add to the site ultimately helps it grow? perhaps for all we know that's all the satisfaction they need.

what we do know is that the thread is supposed to be about thanking them for what they've contributed without derailing it into a rabbit-hole of conspiracies meant to explain why they upload pictures of GWM onto a gallery created for the purpose of displaying pictures of GWM..
