I've gotten a few reports from people who are on iOS that chat isn't working for them. Unfortunately I can't do anything about this because I don't have an iOS device myself.
Can anyone who does have one provide more info? It's fine even if chat is working for you, but it's especially valuable if it isn't.
Things like the specific device/version, the browser you are using, and any additional debug information or error message you can get out of the browser (if chat is broken for you).
I don't think there is anything wrong with 'Recently commented'. I have been watching it after reading this and I think there is a threshold of 15 mins before images start showing up on 'Recently Commented'.
Is there something wrong with the recently commented feature? I've started noticing that when I comment on an image it is not bumped on the list of recently commented images after that. It's not as if I'm mass commenting images, just make one comment once in a while. I could understand a flood protection when someone comments on 10 images within a short time, but this makes no sense to me, it feels like I'm shadow banned.
The chat has been stable for the past ~2.5 days, so I'm pretty optimistic... let me know if there is a problem with it again.
To give context as to what happened, last weekend I did a major upgrade to the software the site uses (not the code I wrote, but rather the dependencies (other software) used by my code) and the existing chat code no longer worked after the update. As a result, I had to replace parts of the chat code. Both the old and new versions behaved unpredictably sometimes, but I'd had years to work around the behavior of the old version, while the behavior of the new version was new. As a result it took a few days of trial and error to get it under control.
I made more changes to it today. The difficulty is that it only fails in specific circumstances that I can't reproduce. All I can do is to look at the logs to see what happened after the fact, and put some code in place that hopefully handles that kind of failure in the future.
I’m not sure if other people have been noticing this either, but for some users, they are showing up multiple times in a chat. I’ve included a screenshot as an example.
I am working on improving this. Hopefully tomorrow it won't outright kick you out or not allow you to connect, although it will probably still be laggy at times.
I kind of prefer the thought of having it as the top block. Basically my user experience would be: go to gwm-> sign in -> see new images of those I subscribe to.
And then having the link to just look at images from those I subscribe to.
I know this is already possible by just going to images and filtering by those that I subscribe to but this would remove a few of those steps from the user experience.

This delay applies to everyone.

Thanks for the bug reports.
We've received several reports over the last few days about these issues. Chainer is working very hard to fix these issues.

yes - i cant even enter chat
I keep on going out and in like a yo-yo.
I made some changes and put in place extra logging so it might not happen tomorrow but if it does, I'll have a little more info about it.
Is chat crashing constantly for anyone else?

Ahh ok so the duplicate triggered the new notification and the comments are from both. Got it.
Either as the top block or near the top.

Someone posted a duplicate of it which was then merged into the older copy.
Maybe because some new user just post it again
So this pic just showed up in my notification list as a new pic.
Love her, and all that. But I've had this pic favorited for years. Suddenly I'm being shown this as a new pic in my notifications list. Why?
Interesting, where on the front page would you put that?
