While I Appreciate the work, this looks seriously detrimental to the look and usability of the forum. It just looks like a message board from the dark ages of the internet now.
Amazing work, Chainer! It took me several years to finally sign up on GWM (sorry about that) and would have taken another many years to sign up in the forum too. Bringing everything together was a great and important step to bring more life into the forum and user interaction. Will definitely check it out more often!
Welcome to the new forum! This is something I've been working on for the past two months and I'm excited to finally share it with you.
What's new
The biggest benefit of the new forum, and my main reason for making it, is that it's now fully a part of the main site. You no longer
need a separate account to use it. I'm hoping that over time, this will increase forum participation as this particular obstacle
that may have deterred some people from joining is now gone. This also allows for the integration of features between the rest of the site
and the forum, for example to display recently active forum threads on the front page.
New features:
You no longer need a separate account for the forum; you just have the one GWM account for everything
You can subscribe to threads, and then you'll get notified whenever someone replies to the thread
(this happens automatically whenever you reply to a thread yourself, much like how commenting on an image on the main site works)
You can subscribe to a topic (board), in which case you'll get notified whenever a new thread is posted
in that topic
Threads you have posted in recently show up on your user profile
Better attachment support than the old forum; attached pics/videos are embedded directly into your post,
and can be thumbnailed or full-size
Support for mobile/smaller screens, like the rest of the site
Clearly marked adult topics (18+), where adult content is allowed (and any content about minors strictly forbidden).
These topics only show up for users who are logged in.
Ability to suggest a new topic (board) (see the button at the bottom of the home page)
There was no way for me to automatically import your old forum posts and link them to your GWM account. While in most cases
people's old forum username matched their main GWM account name, I couldn't just assume that this is always the case.
Your old comments have been imported to the new forum under your forum username, but aren't associated with your
GWM account until you use the above linked page. Once you enter your old forum username and password, you're proving
that you're the owner of that particular forum account, and the site will associate all of those old posts with
your GWM account. At this point they will show up on your profile and you will be able to delete them. (For technical
reasons, posts imported from the old forum can't be edited.)
If you have forgotten your old forum password, the old forum is still up only for the purpose of password recovery here: https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/oldforum. You should do this soon because I'll probably delete the old forum in a month or so.
That's it, enjoy, and let me know if you have any questions. Also, in case the forum update caused bugs across the site
(these might not be limited to just the forum) (inconceivable, I know) please report them here or in the Bug Reports topic.
I changed this slightly so that images don't disappear when the 5 hour pin time expires; you can filter for them on the image index page here. You can still only pin one image per 5 hours though.
Would there be a way to add a search filter for score range? I'm thinking of something like an upper and lower range that the user could type in. 0-50 would work nicely for Hidden Gems, and I'm sure there could be many other useful applications of it.
It could definitely be done but I don't consider it important enough to clutter the search form with it. Besides half the fun of hidden gems is looking for the eligible pics :)
Over the past ~2 months we have had a steady increase in site traffic, presumably due to the ongoing pandemic/quarantines. This includes raw visitor numbers and also means more uploads per day.
We (the site staff) have been reaching our limit in terms of keeping up with the moderation of the increased number of uploads. To help with this, for the time being we are decreasing some of the upload limits:
Max number of simultaneous queue uploads is now 20, down from 30.
The total score you need to get on your direct uploads to get a bonus upload has been increased by a factor of 1.5.
The base number of free direct uploads per day (2) and the max number of simultaneous bonus uploads (5) have not been changed.

Any chance you can add an indicator as to when we last pinned was? I last pinned 10 hours or more ago and don’t have a pin option. I was trying to pin an image with 21 points, though can’t pin any images at this point.
You now get a notification when your image is done being pinned that tells you how much new score and how many new comments your image got while it was pinned.
, given that it currently has a score of 40, was posted in Feb, and she only has 8 pics on the site.
EDIT: Oh I see, the option probably just doesn't appear for me because I changed the name within the last 24 hours, and the pic just happened to finish its 2 hours around the same time.
In my opinion the 2 hour limit is way too short. We are spread all over the world in different time zones, so just a very few will have the chance to see the girls on this page.
Edit: BTW: Great idea, especially for finaly gettin a name. So maybe don't restrict the pics without name so much.
I did put in a check so that it won't let you pin a pic if you changed the name within the past 24 hours.
As for the 25 pic restriction, the goal here is to highlight not very well known pics/models. I could see an argument to increase this to, say, 50, if the 25 is overly restrictive.
I just pinned a nameless pic and it works nicely. Having trouble finding models with 25 posts or less though. Also it seems if someone wanted to, they could bypass the (no more than 25 images on the site) criteria by temporarily changing the name in the post. That is, except for models with locked names.
This is an experimental feature whose point is to highlight great pics which have been underrated.
Below eligible pics on the site, you'll see a button that says "Pin to front page" in the lower left of the image info box:
An image is eligible if it meets the following conditions:
Has a score of 50 or less
Is at least a week old
The model in the picture has no more than 25 images on the site (or if there is no name set)
Once you click the "Pin to front page" button, the image will appear under the Hidden Gems section on the front page for 5 hours. You can only pin a single image at a time. After the 5 hour period you can pin a new image (or the same one, if it is still eligible).
The new forum is amazing, will see a lot more activity here now that it's more integrated
I'd suggest a change, that bellow the threads don't show the OP, but the last user to post in the thread.
Great job chained like usual !
Thank you Chainer ......Great job
This is amazing. Great work!
Thanks Chainer.
Thank you Chainer
Thankyou for all the work, this new forum is better and simpler

Tips to find images: Image search with random ordering, or images with no name set.
(Credit to cgsweat's post for serving as one source of inspiration for this idea.)
Edit: Raised score cap to 50, up from 20.
Edit: Raised amount of time images stay pinned to 5 hours, up from 2.
