Just as an added note, if you're going to edit a photo to crop it, please save the result as a .png. If you resave the edited version as a .jpg instead it'll lose some quality due to lossy recompression.
On that note. If the original image is in jpg format, then it is not even worth editing the image further and saving that in png format. It does not end up as the same image quality as if the image was in png format to begin with.

Also, if you need to cut out parts of a video to shorten it, there are usually ways to do that losslessly, with free programs, but I've already made a post about that.
First off please remember we are trying to keep the standard of the photos uploaded here fairly high, so please keep that in mind when uploading. This philosophy frames how will judge pictures and what we remove.
To the topic, there are a number of image types which we consider low quality, including, but not limited to:
screenshots
blurry images
images with lots of obnoxious text
images where a significant portion is actually black border or a fuzzy framing of the main content
upscaled images
collages with lots of images, but do also see the thread on the subject
This applies to videos too.
In certain cases months may go by before we notice an image with issues, unless in the upload queue, but in most cases the image is subject for removal.
The judgement lies with the moderators and the bar for rejection may drop when an uploader is consistently submitting borderline or poor quality content. So please follow the upload rules and guidelines, along with considering the comments on low quality uploads.
Great feature! Would it be possible to limit results to videos when the image you like is a video? video-specific searches would be a dream elsewhere, too.
We were getting reports of some images being repinned in excessive amounts.
Promoting an unknown model is fine, but spamming the site continuously with the same image just isn’t cool. People get tired of that and we get tired of the complaints, and the poor behaviour that leads to those complaints.
Remember there is a notion of having too much of a good thing, so we ask people not to abuse a feature.
Does this change limit a given image to weekly pinning, or limit a user to weekly pinning? I had assumed the former based on @Chainer's post, but @muscleflexin indicates it's the latter.
1- I don't know who the repost culprit is, but why is this a big deal? Because someone find it annoying? It's only one picture, he can't post multiple. It's not like he's clogging up the system like guys who drop a few hundred in the waitlist.
2- I've used this feature and think it was a good addition, to have guys check out lesser known women, but probably won't now. I've got one post a week that image only stays up for 5 hours? I knew when I could post another when I got a notification on how my last post got. But now 5 hours later I get a post telling me how the last post did, but I don't get another post for 6 days and 19 hours. Making it very unlikely I'll be counting the hours to contributing again.
Why not leave the post up for at least a day to be voted on, in this case, as sometimes the time you post has a lot to do with the number of eyes that see it.
Better yet if you don't like one person's behavior, why not block him from using the feature? Everyone else can play nice but one A-hole changes things for everyone.
It happens when you click the "Pin this image" button below a particular image (it doesn't show up for a lot of them), after which the image shows up under "Hidden Gems" on the front page. Favoriting an image is completely different.
What does 'pinned' mean ? I am subscribing and then picking 'favorite' on all the images I like of that person....Is this not the correct manner to use the system ?
When I search my favorites for “hidden gems” a few photos show an option to “pin” but most don’t. What is the difference in a photo that shows as a hidden gem, but isn’t pinnacle?
A picture should have 50 or less faves, and the girl should have 25 or less pics on this site. Many of your favorited hidden gems have more than 50 faves (so they were pinned before they hit the 50) and maybe some girls had less than 25 pics when the pic was pinned, but since then more pics were uploaded.

It has been requested several times in the past to have a section for people to speak in non-English languages. I was hesitant to have it because of concerns about moderation, but am going ahead with it with the caveat that you are responsible for moderating your own thread and reporting posts in it. (With "you" referring to anyone participating.)
Note that threads from this section don't show up on the front page, but it is NOT an 18+ section.
My original intent was to have it be for foreign languages, but it occurs to me that it's also a good fit for threads like this one, which are meant for a minority of site users to participate in, despite being in English.
I'm trying to pin a picture of Jeong Ji Hye, who has exactly 25 images, but the button doesn't show up. What could be the reason? Is the limit '25 or more'? Or maybe there is a pic in the waiting list, which is not visible, but already added to those 25?
I deleted an image under her name to bring it down to 24, and the pin feature still doesn't work. The rule should still be "no more than 25" (or less than 26, or less than or equal to 25). And I restored the deleted image, of course :)
I think the issue might be tied to the fact that her name has 3 parts to it. Chainer has been fixing bugs in the revised way that the site searches names, so this could be another bug related to that.

lol, this thread is so obsolete... the security question thing only applied to the old forum (which was changed to the current one at the start of 2021). On the new forum we have better ways of fighting spam.

I'll move this to Announcements for visibility.

I guess the wording in the subject line wasn't the clearest, I will edit it to be more clear.
My apologies, Chainer. After clarification, it's sounds like a great idea.
For what it's worth, I like the new policy. Thanks, guys!

It's per image, not per user.

My two cents...

There were some reports that some images kept getting pinned repeatedly (usually by just one user), so this should help alleviate that.

Here's the link - enjoy!
Great addition! I've started using the "favourites" feature to kick it off, and it starts working pretty well pretty fast. Well done
Ruth Jean Wood and Ashley Tomaseski Egerton also have 3-part names, and both were recently pinned, so I guess it has to be something else.
I deleted an image under her name to bring it down to 24, and the pin feature still doesn't work. The rule should still be "no more than 25" (or less than 26, or less than or equal to 25). And I restored the deleted image, of course :)
