I've been saying this before too... there needs to be professional medical intervention on PED use. Yes, I understand it's outlawed in many countries and so most doctors don't want to be involved... but it needs to be legalized. It should be up to individual sports organizations as to whether they want to continue testing for and forbidding their use in competition.

Leave the drugs to real doctors and let these online coaches be responsible for only workout and meal plans.

Thankfully there has been progress made in this matter. I remember a fairly recent publication (I'll try to find it again) about the management of a 23 yo BB who ended up in A&E with myocardial infarction after ingesting a cocktail of the usual suspects - AAS, Tren, T3 and Clen among others - and the authors were insisting on educating medical professionals about PED use among bodybuilders (Use which differs from any regular research protocol, i.e. safety, innocuity and efficacy).

It feels like we've reached a point where these incidents are almost tantamount to public health crisis even though it sounds a bit hyperbolic to say it.

I think Jodi Leigh Miller might qualify?

Kristy Hawkins definitely nails the nerd girl part but she doesn't really discuss politics.

Yeah Jodie Miller is pretty liberal from what I remember from past things she posted. She is also really smart, and I think is a teacher.

More to the nerd part, when I see FFB wearing or with nerdy things my heart melts. Dani Reardon did this to me many times during her bodybuilding days. It’s almost a whole other topic in itself. From her yoda slippers to the fact she had a comic collection. Don’t get me started about the vid with her at a Star Wars convention.

There’s some drama right now with Goob, sunny andrews (whose real name is Sonia Andreou apparently), and her ex coach/bf who has been posting her business all over IG. He may be a moron but he also said the quiet part out loud on why he coaches wellness: if he’s going to do bodybuilding coaching might as well stare at some fat asses.

These guys are scumbags posing as experts and have used trial and error on clients to get where they are. Still amazing that all that stuff from 2020 just blew over and no one batted an eye, although it was serial liar Steph Flescher that blew the whistle on that so whatever credibility that had takes a hit.

Like Gatsby seeing a bit more of the underbelly has really turned me off to the whole thing. (I’m perfectly aware that I’ve participated in the underbelly for a long time now). Not sure if this is why I’ve been angling away from the larger women a lot but that doesn’t mean much since there’s more fresh entries to the fitness world than ever, and even if they don’t get into all the fetish stuff they are walking right into a field of landlines with these “coaches” and scam artists walking around, both men and women

Anastasia Leonova couldn't compete this year and has just been growing instead. I predict she'll continue to grow.

Aside from her I'd say either Leyvina or Ashley Jones will put on the most mass.

I have always thought that it should be a giant red flag whenever you come across a male coach with "hundreds of female clients." There is nothing qualifying this guy to understand anything about women's bodies.

It's the only chance that loser has of interacting with attractive women. Same for Shelby Starnes and all of these other gremlin ass motherfuckers who "coach" women.

The two most important things with PED usage are that you understand exactly what you're taking and you listen to your body. These coaches lack expertise about the former and they actively encourage women to ignore the latter. It's a recipe for disaster and nobody holds them accountable for it.

This is really sad and disturbing but no part of it is surprising unfortunately. When money making becomes more important than community this will happen more and more.

Cindy Reyes is one of faves, great looks and an amazing physique, but she’s very right wing leaning, and it scares me since she works as a nurse. She also dosent look like she’s friendly toward shmoes. Now I understand no FBB is obliged to this, I just saw on her Instagram she said something about she won’t flex if anyone ask, which again I respect since it’s her decision. I don’t think I’m allowed to talk about Tarna since I think she’s black listed. She’s been out of bodybuilding for awhile, and she’s mega Conservative. Very much so she can’t even grasp the concept of a smoche, or that there are guys out who did appreciate her physique, even if it was for the right or wrong reason. Tina La Titan is another one, along with Beast Mode Becca. Also Jessica Chappa is mega conservative.

These articles generate the question: How far would one go to achieve greatness? Or What is one willing to sacrifice to achieve greatness? Just feel sad simply by reading such articles when in reality the situation is much worse.

I really liked Yves Nunes and although she still looks great, I wish there were more vids of her when she was bigger. Or better yet if she got that big again!

Number 1 has got to be certain political views. I mostly don't get into the girls personal lives or what they like and think. I just watch the videos and leave it at that. They are a fantasy not my friends. But the last political election quite a few just couldn't help posting a lot of their views on their social media and it really turned me off of some of them.

Honestly I don't want to see that kind of stuff no matter what side of the isle your on but one side definitely turns me off more. I'm there for the hot girl muscle not your views on the woke secrete Jewish mafia that's out to destroy America and make your kid gay or whatever.

That and neck and chest tattoos.

Andrea Shaw is my fave and I HATE that she succumbed to whoever it was that suggested she downsize a bit. She blew away the competition in 2021 so why would she need to downgrade anything when she still won by a landslide. I get why she did it. Sponsors, politics, chances of getting screwed over, etc. BB isn't cheap. You can't allow that money flow to run dry. Who the hell am I to suggest she do any different. But damn do I wish she would have nicely told them to kick rocks and continued to push her limits.

Wow, that guy sounds like a ****ing asshole. Whining "You didn't give me credit on Instagram!" is peak beta boi.

I wish this poor woman had listened to her body (and loved ones). I don't know what type of recovery is possible. Brains are known to survive and recover from impact injuries, but quite often, brain damage due to lack of oxygen is permanent. I hope she will recover, but that's a horrifying story.

This study is about gym dudes rather than women, but given how right wing lots of FBBs are, this probably applies to women too.

This is interesting. Do you think that narcissism is a common personality trait for bodybuilders?

They definitely exist, though I think that they're more in the amateur, fetish, or SW side of things.

What makes you think they're more to be on these sides of things?

Maybe... it seems like a lot of lower-level competitors are fairly moderate income though. Lots of nurses and such.

I don't know much about crossfit, but bodybuilding is an intensely patriarchal business. Not only do men run the show, but it seems that many women get into due to the influence of their boyfriends and husbands. And from the business perspective... women are treated less like athletes and more like a sexy distraction. It's more the "Lingerie Football League" than it is Women's Tennis. The prize money is a joke compared to mens. The amount of preparation and the importance of facial beauty is huge compared to mens. I think that conservative women are more likely to roll with and accept this harsh inequity.

I'm just commenting on the industry part though. Bodybuilding and fitness is a massive thing outside of the IFBB and the NPC, and I think that the overall world is a lot more diverse and inclusive.

CrossFit is pretty expensive to get into if you’re going to join a gym. In my city, almost all the gyms are in the higher socioeconomic area of town, which does make sense, and like I said before, people in that higher bracket tend to lean more to the right.

Also (and what I understand, this is mostly an American thing: CrossFit culture doesn’t really have this in Europe,) the brand leans heavily into pro-military and pro-law enforcement: two institutions that are conservative. Once, our gym decided to do a Black Lives Matter tribute workout, and it was met with immediate backlash (all the complainers were white dudes too.) People at my gym are generally nice and welcoming, but there are times where, as a guy who is a person of color, liberal and not an evangelical, I feel a bit uncomfortable.
