OnlyFans jumped the shark. Can IG subs be the next good thing?

Yes, I know I dated myself with that, but I've been "old" for over 15 years, so I'm past the age of caring. lol

As a tech lover, I absolutely understand laziness. But one thing I always loved about musclegirls was how hard they worked - not just in the gym and kitchen - to deliver fan-friendly content to guys like me. They seemed to enjoy the simplicity of delivering their own creations to eager fans. The grind was hard, but they did it.

But now...fuuuuuuck. OF has become the lazy woman's paradise. It seems there are so few authentic creators left in the female muscle space that they've become hard to find. Shout-outs to LEXA and MuscleGeisha and Musclemama1113 for keeping it đź’Ż. I know it's NOT EASY to take care of a hungry customer base, but it seems way too many good physiques have mailed it in.

I'm not going to name her because I like her personally, but one girl recently wiped her message feed and removed all her old PPV content. I can only assume her "team" 🙄 is planning to recycle it at some point, which they have a right to do, but it seems like dirty pool to do that with stuff that literally just came out less than 90 days ago (old content being recycled, I wouldn't mind).

Will IG subs cause creators to bring back freshness?

What are you on about? Fonzie jumped the shark less than 30 years ago, right? It's still a hip, happening reference with the lads in the soda shop.

Toothpaste rarely goes back in the tube. The market has an insatiable thirst and seems to be accepting of the bare minimum. 90 day recycles or 3 day recycles, there's an unending line of willing customers.

Think about how successful the 3 shells game is. It's been hundreds (thousands?) of years, nobody has ever won, and people all over the world still line up to play daily.

Simple answer….no. Meta is the least creator friendly company. Just when a creator gets a rhythm going for the brand, Meta will change something that fundamentally interferes with growth and revenue.

OnlyFans is pretty straightforward of a platform. The rules on it change less often so creators can be more consistent because they can gauge growth better.

Honestly, muscular girls have it tough if they want to make any income to offset their costs because most “fans” want one thing and they will push as much as they can to get it. I applaud any person who is able to make a profit of their body because they have to create a clear set of boundaries to protect themselves while growing their brand. A lot of people think it’s simple but there is a lot that goes to creating a successful brand that connects with an audience without inviting any negative parasocial behaviors

I highly doubt it. In your example, Instagram is full of fake bot followers (some social pages for prominent fitness influencers have bot follower percentages as high as the 30% range of total followers.), and many influencers and athletes have people to manage their social media content. There's also always the chance that DMing a bodybuilder or athlete in IG, only means that you'll get a response (assuming you get one at all) from a manager.

It's less an issue of the platform itself and more an issue of logistics. Since OF exploded in popularity during the pandemic and beyond, your top models have more followers than they can reasonably correspond with. There are only so many hours in the day, and when you're a fitness athlete, you take up a lot of time with training, coaching, nutrition and having a life outside of all of that.

In addition to that, if we are being absolutely honest with ourselves, could you imagine being a muscular woman and talking to schmoes all day? I hate to say it, but schmoes on social media, when you read their comments or DMs that women share from them, are exhausting. Getting asked the same questions (often by the same schmoes) over and over and over again gets tiring fast. And on the occasions when women do respond to them, the schmoes often take that as a sign to keep pressing on, and keep asking and pretty much demanding more and more. It's not surprising that many bodybuilders and fit women would rather not deal with schmoes if they don't have to.

The problem is not only fans. it's the dumb findom thing were men like to give away money with absolutely nothing in return. there are less extreme versions of this were they pay more money for a short clip. while they could have sex with them or other fbbs for less it makes no sense. Instagram subscriptions will be inferior to only fans. because they don't allow nudity and they are notorious for banning people randomly for no reason. it's probably their anti spam system but it's just total garbage. but even if it's good the mentality of only fans will carry over anyway and nothing can be done. apart from hoping people get smarter
