She deserved to be there. She might not have affected top three rankings but she would be certainly very visible, so for me this year Ms Olympia was not a world class competition. Quality of every sporting match and value of winning is determined by quality of opponents. Truly victory is determined by who you can beat, not by who somebody manage to take out economically, politically (or otherwise).
Why can't she compete? I assume it's because she can't get a visa due to the sanctions?
I'm pretty sure she can get a visa and can travel. I'm going to make an assumption based on current FIA and FIM policy.
Being Russian, she's not allowed to compete in internationally-governed sport unless she A) publicly denounces the Russian government and its actions regarding Ukraine, and/or B) had established herself as a "permanent resident" or equivalent of another country. No Russian is going to do option A (the Kamaz Master Sport teams have dominated world rally for several years and have been completely absent from all WR2C races, for example) and I'm pretty sure that she'd have needed to establish option B prior to the hostilities.
Mind you this is an assumption regarding her, but it follows a pattern that I didn't just pull outta my ass.
Were any other Russians competing under the Russian flag?

I disagree with your take chilleus. I find her husband to be humorous and engaging. He is like a WWE manager-larger than life, bombastic, filled with energy. He does a great job drawing attention to what is largely a niche sport.

LOL. So based on your opinion the recent Olympics were also not a world class competition because the Russians couldn't represent under their flag? ( And rightfully so) She didn’t deserve to be there. The only thing you are right about is that she certainly wouldn't have affected any top placings.

And you're even asking... :) NO games are world class if they aren't for all best of the world, with equal rights and equal chances for everyone. Elementary stuff. Anastasia deserved to be there, because she won competition that gave her a ticket. When you go to vacation, it also sucks when somebody says... hmm, too bad we don't like you, go away. But she worked hard for that ticket all year! So yeah, I feel sorry about her. Very sorry. While your words give me feeling that you wish her that misery. Truly "fan of female bodybuilders..." Someone just gets it, and has a sense of fair play, can get away from politics and hate. And some people can't. So they just listen and hate those who are thrown in front of them as "proper objects to hate."

You know, I actually wish her misery, and I don't feel sorry for her at all, you are right. It's about all those innocent people, including many athletes, who will never be able to compete anymore because they paid the ultimate price - their lives fighting against the Russian occupiers. I feel very sorry for them. But I certainly feel no pity for her.

For the past year I've been trying to be more of an observer but every once in awhile someone says something soooo staggering I just have to get off the bench.
So let me get this straight. You are taking out the Russian/ Ukraine war on Anastasia because she's Russian? Blaming her for something she had no part in simply because of her nationality? Since she hasn't endangered any innocent people I'm not sure what to say about your point.
You need to think more....or type less sir.
The unfortunate situation affecting poor Anastasia (ie. happening to live in a Dictatorship that is based upon corruption) makes her appearing in any World Class Event moot. It's not her fault she was born into the mess that is Russia. Maybe, one day, she will be free to compete.

Oh my, I guess I should be veeery grateful then, for this high honor of your unusual spread of wisdom because I forced you to get off the comfortable bench :)))
Maybe you should write less quickly and read more slowly. I am not blaming her for the war, but I am saying she is a part of the nation that started the war. And in case you didn’t hear, 102,5% of people according to Russian news voted for the fuhrer who is their current president :) And he authorized this war. So maybe she hasn’t directly endangered any innocent people as you say, but she is still part of the problem. And banning Russian athletes is one of the ways we can fight back without being directly involved in the war. And I fully support that decision and therefore don’t feel sorry for her at all.
Or you would be more that happy to accept German athletes during WWII for example and pretend that nothing is happening?
This is completely hypothetical, but I am wondering how well you think Anastasia Leonova would have placed had she been able to compete.
