Fbb's that makes you cringe.

Look, fellas, I have a simple rule. NEVER follow an FBB on any socials.

This saves me from so much potential cringe while having no downsides. I am interested in these women purely for their physique. This and various other websites have an ample supply of exactly that. My demand for insightful commentary is supplied by other people, who make their living supplying insights and information. Why would I go to someone who makes a living posting thirst traps for the latter? It's simple division of labor. Also, I've found that I can't appreciate an athlete's images if I know she has issues. Gracyanne or Stefi being prime examples. So it'd be irrational to brick my own windows following FBBs.

I disagree with the assertion that bodybuilding in the U.S. is overwhelmingly anything other than a representation of the country itself.

If you want to argue that most of your favorites or women you follow tend to post one way or another, that's fine, but other people choosing not to post about their politics online is just smart business, IMO.

Yikes, you folks are worked up over little things. I hope the rest of your day(s) go better.

I was thinking the same thing also. If someone isn't hurting someone, just let it go.

I love how Katie posted this taking it seriously without realizing that the meme was to mock what a dumb statement it was during the Debate last Tuesday.

I don't think you understand how memes work.

> When they post about politics. I’ve noticed that a considerable amount of women on here tend to be politically conservative and as someone who’s center-center left I find it irksome after awhile. Everyone is entitled to their views but when they post about it frequently it becomes a problem for me.

The bodybuilding community is overwhelmingly right-wing, for several possible reasons.

I think this "community" is infested with many nasty egomaniacs and highly disordered figures, including the majority of fbbs, tragically.

I definitely have to agree with Tre there but also at the same time, other than the politics of the competitions themselves, bodybuilders live a lifestyle that thrives off of discipline and self motivation. No matter where your political beliefs lean you've gotta get up, get to it, and work towards whatever goals you set for yourself. Being too concerned with politics (for many) is just not on the menu so even if they may have those beliefs they get pushed to the backburner. They've gotta knock back that pre-workout and get under that squat rack!

I don't want to argue politics with anyone, so this is just my observation as someone who spends a lot of time in pro BB spaces and has done a few shows myself.

Bodybuilding as a culture is quite inclusive. I've been in gyms forever - even in conservative areas - and I've seen gym bros get along just fine with women and gay dudes and everyone else. Every race is getting along. I think the idea of physical culture is really admirable for how diverse it is.

Bodybuilding as a professional sport... that's a different story altogether.

Befriend any FBB and even the hardest core "Pick Me" girl will tell you how patriarchal and misogynistic professional bodybuilding is. Women are given a fraction of the money and the respect. And then women are judged for doing onlyfans and the like to support themselves.. even though sex work and gay for pay amongst male BB's is extremely common.

Visit any gay p0rn site and you'll see some unbelivably jacked men with amazing physiques. There's lots of hyper fit gay guys. Ever wonder why there's next to no gay BB pros who are publically out? It's because they'll get blacklisted like Bob Paris did back in the 80s. That mentality hasn't changed.

As republicanism has become more the party of traditional masculinity with #2A and rigid gender roles and tough guy posturing and all that... I think that much of pro bodybuilding has begun to skew that way. Same with UFC and Joe Rogan and other bro cultures.

FBB's go along with it because they're in the scene too. It's what the men in their lives believe.

So yeah, I think that pro bodybuilding and the business around it is explicitly conservative. It's very much homophobic. It's fairly misgynistic. I wouldn't say it's racist. It's actually impressive for its racial diversity IMO.

I don't really mind if girls post political stuff that I don't agree with. I can still find them hot. It's too exhausting to get worked up about this all the time.

But I do draw the line at Jodi May shooting a freaking giraffe and bragging about it. That's a trash move. She's trash. I think it was the most triggering and enraging thing that I've ever seen in our bodybuilding world.

I don't think it is the Red Team vs Blue Team aspect of it that people find distasteful, but rather the thinly veiled malicious intent behind the posts. Like the whole cat eating hoax. I know they don't really care about protecting "the pets", they'd eat them for the gainz if store bought chicken wasn't 15x more convenient. They just want to use their platform to bludgeon the minority out-group of the week with harmful misinformation.

I don’t disagree, but this is where social media stuff is. Politics have infected everything. It gets the clicks and the engagements.

And I don’t have any stats, but I’ll say that most of the BB and fitness pros that I know are on the less educated / lower income side of the spectrum. For every Dr. Sunny Andrews, there’s a lot of people just trying to make ends meet.

And lower income people with less formal education go for Trump/GOP in general. It’s part of their base, so buff girls won’t be any different if that’s their lane.

Katie has been a victim of DV. She’s been chewed up snd spit out by this industry and scene. It’s honestly really sad. I know this personally, and I don’t judge her.

Honestly, a lot of what she does comes from a place of fear of desperation to please. Best thing for her would be to get TF out of bodybuilding altogether and surround herself with far less toxic people.

I was under the impression that talking about politics is discouraged, but seeing as it keeps popping up:

WIHS2006 > When they post about politics. I’ve noticed that a considerable amount of women on here tend to be politically conservative and as someone who’s center-center left I find it irksome after awhile. Everyone is entitled to their views but when they post about it frequently it becomes a problem for me.

And, as every other person who airs this grievance, the pattern stands: You issue isn't that they post about politics, but that they post about politics you happen to disagree with.

> weak stay at home baby makers

As opposed to what, slay kweenz boss girls? That's a grotesquely charged caricature that says more about you than any particular political credo. Besides, the overwhelming majority of female bodybuilders, fitness models etc. end up as "weak stay at home baby makers".

JackDoff > She reposted something on a story recently about how rational people change their opinions when confronted with new information, and irrational people don't. She doesn't realize which category she falls into.

As comforting as the thought might be for you, politics you disagree with are not necessarily indicative of irrationality. You're not making the point you think you're making.

Well done, conassa!! 👍🏼

It is very much cringey when anyone makes their politics their entire personality, no matter which side they are on. I don't mind knowing that someone has different views than me, but if 90% of their posts are angry yelling at clouds it just gets annoying and kinda pathetic

Did anybody cringe when they learned about Stefi Cohen's run in with the law??

I just looked this up and apart from the revenge porn incident, apparently she was recently charged with grand theft for... stealing equipment from a gym to resell on FB marketplace?? How could anyone ever think that was a good idea lol, straight up drug addict behavior

this isnt cringe, and acknowledging reality isnt a dumb statement

okay back to the main subject now and keeping it basic

Wendy mcCready .. (again ) the reason this time . she produced a bodybuilding DVD of herself, it was disaster, she mumbled in the interview and if any fans wanted it for any scenes of her in her posing costume bad news there was none

Joanna Thomas should climb out of her grave and show her how to do it right

bodybuilders who post nothing but selfies .

if I had a phsyique I could guarantee finding a photographer

> Just about everything Carolyne Marquez does online......the whole fake natty, "I'm not on roids, just SARMS" BS she pushes. I try not to click on her stuff to get her more traffic. just annoying.

And Dana Linn Bailey’s constant “I’m not on steroids I just work harder than everybody else!” One, lying about being natty is shitty, and two, talking down on everybody else (including people who work just as hard as her but don’t look like her) is even worse.

Miss Baiey gets another cringe worthy mention . she brought a golds gym out right , took all the golds logos out and painted it black all over the place

secondly she once appeared in the bodybuilding magazine full on face mask and bandana looking like a taliban fighter

What's cringe about her?

Always wearing weird masks and very cringe posing/dance routines that turns me off no matter how big or pumped she is lol. She has the personality of a side villain on a CW show.

I would like to take the time to apologize for my previously lewd comment in this thread. I have been aware at how out of line and how unbelievably disgusting I have been. I take it all back.

I do want to add a thing that has been cringe-worthy. At least to me, that is. I hate it whenever I see some fbb's or fitness influencers post same the old "I'm going to crush you with my thighs/arms" bullshit or their cringe acting at how "offended" they are whenever someone asks them if they will crush them with their thighs/arms. Like, okay, we get it you're swole.

While I'm at it, I hate hearing the same kind of people ask "would you date a woman if she had muscles"? It's gotten pretty lame really fast.

It most definitely is cringe lol. Her post was ironic because she doesn't get the joke. She's republican and thinks that everyone is laughing with the comment "They(immigrants) are eating the dogs...cats....and pets". When in reality, we are laughing at the absurdity of the comment. I'm praying for you, brotha!

That's a completely different statement, and I believe we can all agree on that.

You're confusing "everyone" with "we" and using it interchangeably. You do you, but few things are more "cringe" than that.
