My question is this: why do you want to remove every category except bodybuilding?
I have been to amateur shows that had women’s bodybuilding divisions where there were only two or three competitors. I also went to one where there was only ONE (and all those contests had a full slate of competitors in the other divisions.)
I think the other divisions are great because they allow competitors who are only interested in building themselves up to a certain size and condition. Not everyone who wants to compete also wants to be a mass monster, and eliminating those other categories isn’t going to suddenly make them decide to grow into that kind of size.
I feel like you’re looking at it (and correct me if I’m wrong) with more of a “fetish” perspective versus an actual competitor’s point of view.
For the sake of continuing to have the sport of bodybuilding all those classes need to stay a part of it. Women’s bodybuilding represents a very very small portion of competitors at most all local shows. And most of those competitors even cross over into some of the categories you mentioned at the same show (figure, wellness and woman’s physique).
I met a bikini competitor at my gym a couple weeks ago. She was huge - I thought for sure she would be in figure.
Look how big bikini and figure competitors have gotten. They're gateways for women to move up into physique and then bodybuilding if they have the genetics for it. I think they should stay.
No because the different styles of bodies look great. the bikini fbbs looks very feminine and still quite strong even if I prefer bigger. wellness looks absolutely stunning in the lower body and they have high feminity. physique and body building also looks epic because the women are huge and beautiful but often they lack the more typical feminine beauty. sometimes you get goddesses that are as feminine as a bikini model but have body builder level muscles. but I think more variation is good and I hope they will make up more categories in the future

probably just me then..thing is contest audiences were getting lower before the pandemic with some people complaining about too many fitness and other classes
some entire contests this year have been cancelled all together
Yes even I went to a contest that had only on physique woman bodybuilder in it .. worse the organizers decieded she had to do the overall posedown with all the bikini and figure women it was disaster as all the other women were in heels and the physique woman was not . The Audience gave the organizers a rough ride that day ..
my basic thought is there are now too many fitness . wellness bikini and the ever famous never seen a gym in their life just turned up as they had a bikini filling shape body. time to trim some of the classes down

Really? Which NPC show was that? I'd like to look it up.

it was a bodybuilding contes over in the UK
does any one else think that fitness and figure and wellness and bikini classes should be kicked out or removed from bodybuilding shows
yes they should
or
No they can stay
I vote yes they should be removed and bodybuilding shows restored to what they should be
