Oh no! Fitness influencer manipulates their photos! News at 11!

Fitness influencers manipulating their photos are like MTG players at tournaments with questionable hygiene. It's really not an uncommon thing. It's not so much of an expose as is confirming what a lot of influencers are already doing (along with the fake natty thing.)

And Goob is obnoxious.

Extremely.

The only thing funnier than guys thinking that the majority of FBB's & fit girls are natty is guys thinking that the majority of FBB's and fit girls are NOT manipulating their photos.

The same goes for MBB's and fit guys.

Like people who earn their entire living based on their body and image just take a pic of themselves and post it up with zero editing whatsoever. Sure thing bro.

I mean since photoshopped images aren't allowed in the main gallery on this site this is something to take note of. It's not like we shouldn't care just because it happens often. Then we could just start posting AI images instead.

And I respect Goob's dedication to try and get to the truth.

Wait...what makes her an "influencer"?

Doesn't she just post a lot of pics of herself on Instagram? Lots of people do that.

So she wants to get freakishly, inhumanely big…

Remind me why this is bad again?

My dude.

I agree that this site bans obviously morphed images.

But please just know that ever single still photo of girls like Vladislava, Melinda Lindmark, Sunny Andrews, you name it.. has been edited and optimized. Skin softened, muscles enlarged, waists snatched, posture corrected. It’s easy to do for an amateur and undetectable for a professional.

And really… why not? These models don’t owe us some kind of pure, uncut photo reality. Pictures have been edited and tweaked for decades.

Goob tends to call out the sloppier examples of this work, but don’t kid yourself that it isn’t the norm.

Exactly. I really dislike this guy, and I'll tell you why.

"Goob" makes a substantial amount of money from this content. So it's in his interest to maximize engagement and views.

He calls out men and women in seemingly equal degrees, but his posts on women do seem to get far more engagement and hate. His audience really loves tearing women down, and they don't delight in the male subjects quite as much.

He calls out criminals and sex predators and the like, and I'm here for that.

I think it's also appropriate to call out "influcencers" who are specifically selling fitness programs. If you're telling the public that "you can look like me," then it's disingenous to edit your photos.

But far too many of his posts are just regular ass girls who are sloppy with their edits and cannot afford to pay someone professional to do it. They're trying to get attention for their body, but really, who cares if Charlotte Chant makes her delts a little bit wider? Her pics are free to view. It's free to follow her. As a fan, I don't think she owes me total transparency in her pics. As a personal training client who's following her delt routine.. okay maybe.

He also recently called out a woman for using GoFundMe to get help with her competition. It's EXPENSIVE for women to compete. Espcially compared to men. They're paying for hair & nails.. the suits are like 5x to 10x what a man's posing suit costs. And both the prizes and sponsorship amounts are lower. He's the same kind of guy to shame competitors for doing onlyfans.

Anyway if Charlotte reads this.. I think you're awesome. Edited or not, I want delts just like yours someday! I'm a guy and I've been bodybuilding for 10 years, and I'm still not at that level of definition.

Even we, bodybuilders or not, edit our photos before uploading on social media to radiate that stunning effect!! It's not uncommon, but this guy create a chaos out of it

Aug 26, 2024 - permalink

Nah for the most part I agree with Goob. He calls people out on their lies, whether they are bodybuilders or not. This is part of the problem with the sport of bodybuilding. Nothing is ever good enough.

Aug 26, 2024 - permalink

He is good when he calls out rapists and scammers. but the "problem" is that this is his career now so on slow news days he has to make drama about minor things. these days we still don't have the technology to make good fake videos so if they upload videos of themselves it's probably what they really look like in perfect conditions. and if they try to fake it you can tell with ease. with images it's harder to detect fakes nowadays

Do you mean Margerie Taylor Greene? The "questionable hygiene" idea and the same about her 'sanity' do apply. But MTG could mean something else which I am not aware of....yet.

I was talking about Magic the Gathering. It’s an amazing game with a in unfortunately very stereotypical player base at times. I mostly play online because of it lol.

So you're saying morphing images is ok as long as it's non detectable?

Also can I lie to you just because I don't "owe" you the truth?

Changing images colors with filters is one thing (I have a slightly more blueish tint in one eye and slightly more yellow tint in the other, which one is more correct I have no idea). But increasing apparent muscle size in images is another ball game imo.

Do you really think that most thirst pics of girls on Instagram (muscular or not) are not edited for smaller waists, bigger boobs, smoother skin, etc?

Like when you see images of hot women on social media, the only editing they do is filters to correct the bluish tint in one eye? Other than that, it's straight out of the camera every time?

Calling out FBB's for editing pics is like calling them out for using gear. It's so widespread that there's no point.

Really?

Even if most pics are morphed I still don't think it's ok to alter the contours of the body, unless it's clear it's been altered. Would you think it's ok if a normal looking girl always morphs her images into making her look like a muscle physique girl (if it's done realistically)? Or that your favourite instagram girl is AI generated and completely made up, even if her instagram displays her as a real human being and most people think she is real? Where do you draw the line?

Dude, you're asking me this as if I'm somehow the authority. I'm not judging this either way, and my opinion means nothing here.

I'm saying clearly that:

1) Popular muscular models (male and female) make their muscles bigger, their waists smaller, and their bodies more aesthetic. Women make their boobs bigger, their skin softer, and their lips larger. The image you see is not the exact image taken by the camera.

2) Many if not most of the recent photos on this site have these edits.

How you feel about it and how you want to compare it to other scenarios doesn't matter. It's happening. You're looking at it. Feel free to be mad, I guess.

And yes, the way that AI can sculpt a body is already pretty remarkable. In a year or two, it's going to be flawless. You might not believe a six pack on Kanye West, but a perfect six pack on a girl who already has a very tight abdomen will be undetectable. And Goob's trick of zooming in to see bent lines and sloppy work won't yield any more people for him to publically shame.

The moral is: don't instantly believe everything that you see on social media. Honestly, this is a good rule to follow for all content.

It doesnt make me mad, dissapointed maybe. Because like you say it's just a matter of time before the AI images will be indistinguishable from real pics. By then instagram will be flooded with AI girls that look just stunningly amazing in every way and you might not know if she is real or not. Any real girl will have an even harder time competing unless she makes her pictures look like someone she isn't.

This is the direction we are heading if we just view the thirst pics as selling a fantasy. I'd like to keep fantasy and reality separate, but it might just be a hopeless wish.

I used to actually go in person to play that at a local card store lmao. The store closed due to covid, but I had stopped going a full 4 years prior to that, just fed up due to some of the idiots there. Maybe online is the way to go for that.

and rightly so. competing is a privilege not a right. if you can't afford to compete, you should save money until you can, not beg for people to help fund you getting a plastic trophy/medal

I mean did anyone really think those pics were not edited ?

My main concern is the way people seem to jump on women who edit pictures but there is almost no backlash when men do the exact same . And I would say it comes from salty schmoes but pretty much half the comments on that post were from other women.

I’ve even dmed char for fitness advice and she’s one of the nicer fitness girls so this is sad to see.

It's not as if it's compulsory so you do you and let others make their own decisions
