They are taking applications for the gladiators with filming starting in May/June.

Can't believe I've not posted this one. I remember watching it one Saturday afternoon on ITV. Cory Everson appearing on 'The Spectacular World Of Guinness Records' from 1987. The segment with Cory starts around 11:35
I know that this is about FBBs on UK TV, but I was just thinking how lucky we are with the number of UK women who wanted to build muscle and show us the results of their hard work. I did a short list of those that came to mind: Nancy Jones, Hayley Brylewski, Aisling Hickey, Layla Allen

Indeed, people don't realise how many British women work out and/or take part to contest across the country. Granted, their numbers look like small potatoes compared to the entire population, besides a context of increasing overweight/obesity tendencies in the past few decades. But the recent multiplication of new federations in the past few years - which includes many variations of FBBing - seem to capture a large number of competitive aspirants. A significant number of them are not even featured on this website, some of it being certainly due to the low-key profile they assume. Just regular people who happen to bodybuild.

James Whale show, Donna Hartley @5.05, other fbb's @12.00
Donna had been a very good 400 metre runner and was part of the GB team that won a bronze medal at the Moscow Olympics. She had a fairly short spell in body building and died suddenly in 2013 aged around 58.
Good old Jasper Carrott - the man that gave us the term "Dickhead" and is the driving force behind Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.
UK-has anyone managed to find out information yet about the new Gladiators TV show on BBC? I hoping there will be some excellent female gladiators…but this is the BBC!
