Who cares what others think? Seeking to eliminate any criticism makes you seem like a simp.
Correct
Honestly, I'd be for getting rid of comments entirely. The forum is fine and good enough for discussions... The comments never amount to anything helpful. It's either "omg she is hot!" Or someone b**chin about something dumb. It's never, ever productive anymore.
> Because the second one of those is actually true? > > (I will write a longer post later, don't have time right now)
It's subjective though isn't it?
Outside of this community, the vast majority of people think that each and every Olympia competitor looks like a dude. Put a pic of Chelsea Dion or Angela Yeo on Facebook and you'll attract those kind of trans hate comments like an electromagnet. Would you allow someone to leave that as a comment on their pages?
> Muscles_Toez, you don't want a vivid forum. Instead you want a safe space.
That's accurate. I want to see photos and get turned on by them without hearing someone bitching about tattoos or the fact that the model is a lesbian.
You don't have to read the comments... you actually have to physically scroll down to read them.... If you just want to see the photos, that is easily done without scrolling to the comments.
For someone who just wants to see the photos, you sure do leave a lot of comments, and some negative ones too.
Maybe the next update, can include a switch to turn comments off for memebers who need their "safe space" without infringing on everyone else's ability to leave, read and reply to comments.
^^
What what ?
I love Melinda. But that pose literally looks like she's peeing in the shower, lol. It's a crazy pic and I'm talking about the composition. That's clearly not the negativity that we're talking about. And silly or not, I still like that photo as it's showing both her wonderful muscles and her pretty toes (hence my username!)
And Anastasia... I'm the one praising her physique and just saying that she might be transitioning. Everyone else is taking snarky pot shots at her.
Gender questions are gonna be a thing when it's a website where 95% of the women are taking potent male hormones which virilize their bodies to varying extents.
I'll admit to being a porn addict. I'm a member of way too many discussion forums about all sorts of kinks. I love feet, I love BDSM, I love macrophile. I spend way too much time on this.
It's kind of hilarious and kind of sad that this site has the most strident anti-trans attitudes by a mile. And yet its the only one where the hormonal profile of the girls we're admiring and the average trans girl (or in many cases, the average biological male or even enhanced biological male) is so similar. Kind of crazy when you think about it, but maybe that's why there's so much sensitivity.
Anyway, I do want to acknowledge that the mods are doing a solid job with image comments. I had to dig around for that Paige DuMars post, and I do see some truly wild people getting regulated in the forums too. I love this site, and I'd ultimately like it to keep improving.
I do not think that you actually know what censorship is... you live, without it. But if you would move your person to Russia, North Korea or China today, you would know it. Except that you would be dead.
yay for censorship!
You can call it what you want, but in reality it is enforcing a sense of decorum and civility. This is in both how we treat each other and how we comment on the images.
We don’t want to be deleting comments, but if someone can’t be respectful or behave, then we have to step in. If someone can’t say anything nice, then either find a different way to word things or avoid saying things.
You wouldn’t walk into someone else’s house and feel that insulting or upsetting the hosts or other guests wouldn’t be without some level of consequence, even if it is tolerated to an extent.

I agree 150%.
Further, it is a Priviledge to be able to post on this amazing website --- it is not a Right or even A God Given Right.

i think it's helpful to remember that the barrier to entry for this site is basically free. all you have to do is sign up. It's a minor barrier but its not enough to stop someone from coming in and looking around.
i'm thankful that no one came around here during the debacle a couple of weeks ago and started taking screenshots of the worst stuff that's been left lying around, and the dumbest comments that are too old to remember (these are likely discovered by women seeing their posts for the first time and looking around) or got nuked but still quooted (or the user was banned but the comment stayed up).
there were one or two comments on that post about how cringy/awful the comments were. EVEN IF a woman was ok being posted here, they might be so turned off by some of the stuff that ets jotted down that they don't want to be adjacent to it at all. even jacked women don't want to be called tanks sometimes
Excellent points FP. We should all pull our pants up and do the right thing...always.
Negative can be subjective, especially in this type of context. I actually can’t stand when people think their opinions matter more than anyone else’s. Who gets to decide what’s negative? The OP? See, doesn’t work. This just says basically, “I think something so everyone else needs to think and say the same things I would or they shouldn’t be allowed to speak.”
On one hand, I think people who can't keep negative comments to their selves are assholes in addition to having main character syndrome. No one cares nor needs to hear your worthless opinion about a photo or competitor you don't like.
On the other hand, free speech. That said, we have to understand and accept the fact that most of these women cannot achieve the physique they have without steroids. Technically they're doing some of the same things transgender men must do to become men, just to a lesser degree. So of course people are going to question their femininity, they're artificially changing their biology. So that type of criticism just comes with the territory.
The negative comments are mean-spirited and unnecessary. The women might have less of an issue with their pics getting posted here if people were a little nicer.
and some appreciate honestym, speaking from experience. my concern is the softness of guys getting all upset about comments on a website.
we aren't going to make it are we?

The comment section enables people to leave comments, 99.9% which are positive and also a place to share views with others. Our passion for the physically developed female, is unique, and obviously not mainstream, so we can't exactly talk about it with all of our family and friends. Through some of the comments from others, PM messages have built online friendships with some members here.
The person in this thread who suggested eliminating comments altogether, probably doesn't leave messages, so he or she doesn't derive the same enjoyment as the ones who do. I'm not a fan of huge bulbous fake boobs or excess ink covering beautiful hard earned female muscle. I don't deem that as negative...just my own personal taste.
No one cares nor needs to hear your worthless opinion about a photo or competitor you don't like.
The exact same thing applies to photos or competitors you do like. Taking the good with the bad is what being an adult is about.
Quite frankly, this site straddles a commendably fine line between the Wild West of 90s Internet and the Orwellian hellscape that some are trying to implement all over. Even those who haven't always seen eye to eye with the admin and some of the moderators can attest to that, and I for one hope it will continue this way.
Eh, I'm not one for censorship.
I'd much rather not see constant carping and inane speculation about PEDs. But I'm sure other members would rather not hear me comment on ugly-ass tattoos so there's that LOL.
At the end of the day, no one is making me (or you) read the comments.
@hedgeborn...perfect! Your comment hits on every level. I agree with you about various so-called negative comments. We don't have to agree with everyone's comments, nor do they have to agree with ours, to enjoy this site.
For what it's worth, I think that the Moderators are doing a very good job at keeping the many discussions as decent as possible. It is a hard and thankless task and I do appreciate their hard work. I'd also suppose that the majority of people enjoying GWM feel the same way.
