Is there a correlation between gamers/nerds, and being attracted to muscular women?

Sep 24, 2023 - permalink

Kittybitcosplay was a topic on the “nattyorjuice” subreddit https://reddit.com/r/nattyorjuice/s/A4peu5VaSi , and one of the comments mentioned her being popular because she markets herself to gaming nerds who like muscle mommies.

Maybe I’m reaching for a relation between the two, but while I’m not into Anime and I only play video games very casually, I am a dedicated tabletop gamer and wargamer, and the guy who DMs a D&D group I participate in and owns a game store is also really into muscular women. Do you think gamers or geeks in general are more likely to be attracted to buff women? They may not be the majority, but I’m seeing more muscular women getting into geek culture.

I have zero interest in games/nerd culture and I am obsessed with muscle...

Good question, muscle mommies are definitely becoming popular within nerd culture, especially on Twitch. As you mention, KittyBitty is one streamer that plays into it, but there are a lot more. To name a few, Jennalynnmeowri comes to mind. Morgpie, Amouranth (to a certain extent), and there's an Asian streamer with amazing quads whose name escapes me at the moment.

Also, non-muscular but sort of a dominant "mommy" is a thing too. Particularly within ASMR.

I think there is a correlation. It partly has to do with gamers and nerds not caring about aligning their selves with popular culture. For instance, we don't care about wearing the hotest shoes to fit in with popular society. Instead, we tend to march to the beat of our own drum. Which frees us to be into "muscle mommies" while not caring about how uncool it might be.

In addition to that, gamers and nerds tend not to fit the stereotypical mold of an "alpha male". I hope no one views that as an insult, I'm a huge nerd myself. I'm into MtG, D&D, Command Modern Operations, Warhammer, etc. The fact is, when you compare us to other groups, say jocks for example, on average we tend to be less stereotypical alpha (for lack of a better word). And that allows the woman the space needed to fill a less traditional role. Bearing in mind "muscle mommy" is not just about a girl having muscles.

Check out comedian Don McMillan (who's on YouTube), and you may find your answer complete with a Venn diagram! At least you'll learn some related jokes.

I don't think that you can corelate that. Nowadays almost every one under 40, esp under 30 plays some form of video games. Plus nerd culture has become so popular that it's not the same stereotype like it was 10 20 years ago. So to answer your question, I think almost 80% people on this website fall under that category

No it doesn't appear to be related. but at least for me I am quite weak and nerdy. so I have an inferiority complex. so I want a strong wife or girlfriend since I am much weaker than most men and about the same strength as the average woman so the gender roles are somewhat reversed. but I also like to act masculine but I just lack strength there are a lot of people on here who are not nerdy.

I think the reason why these gamer girls are popular is because they are more relatable to most men. while gaming has been getting more popular with women. still less than 50% of Gen z women play games. while over 90% of gen z men do it. and fbbs and athletic women tend to be much more old-school and think gaming would be a distraction from working out. many of them on Instagram appear very materialistic and rich and want men who are matcho bodybuilders who are even tougher than they are. so it seems impossible for the average man to attract her. they often parade with luxury cars and expensive jewelry in Las Vegas. even in December they are at some tropical beach. while you are in the cold and can't go on vacation because of work or lack of money.

meanwhile these gamer girls have similar interests to the average man. and they appear more middle class even if they are not. they tend to have a better sense of humor and interact more with her fans. it just appears like you could meet her irl and talk about things that are not related to her body. it's a problem for me in dating because I don't have much in common with the average woman. I don't know what to talk about apart from sex but that wouldn't be appropriate until later on.

I don't know how she identifies, but Slava's got a nerdy gamer-girl thing going on that I love.

I was born a nerd, have lived the nerd life, and will die a nerd. I probably don't qualify as a "gamer", but I did put significant hours on my PS5.

Right or wrong, because of my exposure to guys who believed this way, my position was always that nerdy guys tended to be the guys who were more likely to recognize the independence and equality of women. Back in the 80s, for example, all the guys at school supported the girls' soccer team - soccer was the sport - but only the nerdier guys were really supporting girls' basketball.

There are a ton of other data points to support whatever I want to believe, but at the end of the day, nah, large data sets suggest there's no real correlation.

I don’t really think there’s a correlation lol. There are lots of people who don’t play games and like muscular women, and there are lots of people who play games and don’t like muscular women lol, in fact finding someone who DOES play games and likes muscular women would be a hell of an outlier imo.

I consider myself a nerd/neurodivergent and wear the badge with honour, however I don't think we are quantitively more or less attracted to muscular women, but those of us who are, much more intensely.

I think reading She-Hulk/Wonder Woman comics as a younger person and growing up seeing characters like Sarah Connor/Ellen Ripley/Alice from the Resident Evil movies shaped aspects of what I found attractive. Up through middle school, all of my real life crushes were athletes/tall girls/the oddballs in my classes. I don't know if it means anything or if it just applies to my specific life experiences.

I have no idea if gamers have a higher rate of attraction to muscular, than non-gamers. I'm not a gamer. I think those of us who love muscular women, are just wired this way. I'm definitely one of the oldest guys here and as far back as I can remember, have been completely enamored with muscles on girls. It has also been a very intense attraction, so much so that a non-muscled woman has never been able to stimulate me.
