Hope you win next time.

I have seen her cross fit performance, very intense, very high level so she deserved the win, so no problem for me. Pretty funny she did not place god on right. Guess bad luck at the oponents choise before.

Contests like this are a tactical strategy too. For me it was girls using ths wrist bending and grip variation techniques stop by losging grip and slip of hands. But need to be careful obvious losging grip is a rason for get disqualified. Because after slipping hands the match get restart as a strap match. Hands get fixed by strap and so it is not possible to use this techniques. A big advantege for me i noticed after a few strap matches. I be able to use a strong grip squeezing the oponents hand hard and my strength but she cant use her techniques.

Pretty cool, so would you say u for more skils than power or ist it a combination of both?

Combination

At contests like this all have some technique or are intructed at the techniques . So you need a good strength too for beat up the oponents . But it is all a combinatio betewwen strength , technique and like wrote before strategy and recognize on what the opponent is good at for find a way to beat her .

Interesting. Was it PAL rules or something else?

I've competed several WAL and WAF rules intentional slips are completely fine and most matches are straps.

EDIT: Unless you're talking about intentional foul in the setup

I'm talking about losing the grip on purpose

It was a US exhibitor of armwresling Equipment who offered the contest at his booth Competitors are athletes from the Expo like me no pros but some pros explained and showed the athletes How to Do and the Main rules

what expo was it? where?

FIBO

awesome.... who was the exhibitor?

Yeah, intentional slip in an attempt to get to the straps. I was just curious because I've never encountered rules in the US where an intentional slip wasn't legal (from a neutral position). Obviously slipping from a losing position would be a foul.

Yes the obious slipping for get to the straps was a foul and disquilfication

But at the situations my hand slipped it was Ok i think because no DQ . Most it was at this wrist bending until just fingers try to hold grip before slip off or when the other girl tried to get a other grip position at push . For me it was always good when the strap was put on , most i was able to use my grip strength and squeeze the othe girls hand pretty hard what broke her resistance in many times and made a good advantage for push her arm down . But even when the other girl had a hard grip too it was good for me because i guess i was able to use all my strength this way . No games just put all power of my arm and body into the push. First very unusual but noticed this way to push fit to me and my way to move at the table

Weird. That is such a strange rule.

I totally agree. I much prefer arm wrestling in the strap

This a pretty good video explaining some techniques on how to slip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRWkzivsauo

During the briefing, before we were told that intentionally Release grip would lead to Disqualifikation, but did not seen that somebody get disqulified after loosing grip. Guess because of the atheletes was no pro armwrestlers this was told

For most competitors this was a new experience to armwrestle by rules and with a referee, for me it was Second time

Ok that makes sense. A rule implemented for safety reasons.

Yes, from all the videos of pro armwrestlers I have watched, trying to slip out of the competitor's grip or even having your hand bend way back seems to lengthen the contest and make it hard to see who is really stronger (or smarter) and should win. So often, once the strap is installed, the tale is told! The contest proceeds and ends in a straightforward manner and in a shorter period of time.

Liesbeth do you change your style when arm wrestling in a bar or do you still use the professional style?

Just wondered how people react when you beat them and they say you are not allowed to use professional rules, because they know no different.

Ok " What changed for me at arm wrestle at Bar or any other place " I think first i be better and stronger at arm wrestle in any way

Second yes i use the technique i learned but not same hard rules more free style and fit to the situation .

Third the reactions are not much diferent like before . Most are surprised or impressed , many men dont believe geting their arm to the table or need a hard figth to beat me

Fourth there are many dont know hot to do and try to discus about cheating at use second arm for hold at the table ( for expamle ) Others think it is correct to grip others hand under elbows what is complete sensless because seen this crap in many youtube videos . So often have to explain how to do and why do this way But this was same before i learned how pro do it so no change

Fifth so many think armwrestling is just compare of bicep power , stupid too but wrote about this more earlier in this tread .

P.s.

Sorry forget to reply last days

Liesbeth, what percentage of matches do you win against men in bars?

May 07, 2023 - edited May 07, 2023 - permalink

Its not main Bars lol

Over 50 % sometimes up to 70 % depends what sort of men challenge me sometimes more sometimes less

At FIBO Expo it was about 10 to 20% of the male ahteletes but 55 to 70 % of the male visitors
