If you train, what are your motivations?
And if you don't, why not?
I train some just to keep from falling apart as I age. But I'm lazy AF
I usually train with my girlfriend she goes to the gym almost everyday but I got sick 3 times in a row and lost all the gains so im not really going anymore since I also have a lot of work and I dont really enjoy it I really only did it to feel better about myself but Ive overcome my depression and Im finally happy with myself!

Congratulations! I know that depression can be a very difficult struggle. I hope that you maintain your joy and happiness.

Thank you so much!
Yep, I train 5 days a week with a little bit of a nutrition focus. Not too strict though or I'd go crazy. I just do it because it feels good, and it's a good separation from work and stress. Very meditative.
Well i try to do some exercises and i make sure to walk every day. but its not much i just do pushups against my coffee table for a few minutes a day but i do make sure to do it every day no matter what. i got a little bit stronger from this but i am still very weak compared to most men and i have been doing it for over 1 year. i should spend many hours working out but i can't handle that i am too lazy.
and while i like to walk. in the last few months the weather has been so shit and the sun goes down quickly. i only walk 15 minutes a day on average while in the summer i would walk for hours and i noticed my legs where hardened from it. but even in the summer you sometimes have rainy periods like one day i was far from home when there was a sudden thunderstorm not fun. a lot of people do jogging but that does not look fun to me. i also like to mostly eat vegetable soup with some bacon and i also eat a lot of tuna but multiple times a week i get invited to mc Donald's by my friends. so i stay slightly overweight. i have always been a picky eater i never eat fruit and i only like vegetables when they are in soup for some reason.
I do some form of exercise most days, probably average 6 days a week. I go to the gym, run, cycle (road and mountain bike). Some days I'll do 2 things, depending on what's on, the weather, work, social commitments etc. Partner does gym and pilates, usually averages about 4 days a week (her kids are younger than mine so require more supervision!). Don;t watch diet at all, have a pretty fast metabolism; plus I really like good food, beer and wine haha.
I answered “No“ because I don't work out at a gym, but I exercise in other ways; I wouldn't say I have a “sedentary lifestyle” like the question suggests
i rockclimb, and train upper and lower body partly to improve at that, but also generally to be more fit/muscular/stronger in my day-to-day life. i have tiny chicken legs (or this is how they appear to me) so that motivates me to do squats and deadlifts.
I train for two reasons. 1) vanity and confidence 2) I do feel better, breathe better, eat better, sleep better, mental health, etc
Work out with weights in the gym 3-4 times per week to stay in shape. Could definitely benefit from upping my cardio. I keep to mostly a high protein, low carb diet. Currently trying to drop 10-15 lbs gained last year from straying from diet and exercise during the holidays. Off to a good start in 2023 so far.
I train about 3 times a week now, cut back from 5 times a week. I'm older than dirt now, so it gets harder to get my butt down there. Just set up a home gym...so maybe I can elevate my workouts again. My diet sucks because I love cinnamon almost as much as female muscle. 😳😁
Cinnamon? Nothing wrong with cinnamon. Now Cinnamon Toast Crunch, maybe. But throw cinnamon in your oats, make protein peanut butter cinnamon pancakes, make protein bars with a ton of cinnamon, get some low calorie ice cream and dump cinnamon and nuts on it for a good treat. Actually it’s supposed to be good for you. Studies show it reduces some inflammation and good for circulation.
But anyway, 3 training days is still great. I’m currently do a 5 day plan (basically PHAT), but think I’ll change soon to 3 days of full body plus a 4th for some lagging body parts. I was a high level athlete that couldn’t keep going due to injury so I definitely know my way around a lot of different types of training. And the more I train hard, the more my wife trains hard too so I keep it up. We’re both very competitive.
