Glutes, hamstrings and calves make this pose work and those are often the muscles that are often overlooked in the workouts in favor of the biceps and quads, the selfie muscles. Juliana Malacarne works those glutes, hamstrings and calves hard and she does this pose as well as anyone. That third pic of her is simply outstanding her thick leg muscles are demanding attention.
I don't think there's a thread about this yet, but I think this pose in contests is very sexy. Leg is lifted and the hamstring/quad connection is on display. I don't think there's a technical name for it, but I'll call it the Captain Hook pose, because it kinda reminds me of Captain Hook. If there's a different name, please let me know.
I think Juliana Malacarne made it special, but she's far from the only one to do it.
