Source Field

What are your thoughts on requiring a source field for uploads? A field where users paste the link to where the image or video they're posting originated from. I figure this could cut down on the amount of detective work for content that's uploaded without a name. May also help in prohibiting or moderating uploads from known morph accounts or paid sites.

There's already a source field. If you look in front of the uploaders name and expand the window titled "uploader" you'll see 2 additional options "upload date" and "source" (which is the file name.)

Only problem is the uploads that require detective work is because some uploaders withhold names for personal satisfaction.

What iTheDude said. Other than that, I wouldn't want to force people to provide a source, as a lot of people might not remember where they got the file in question from. Or if they do, it's extra busywork to fill in the source.
