Date-time indicator for chat messages?

Would there be any interest in a time indicator for chat messages, even if it is only visible as a mouse hover over a username in desktop mode?

Don’t mean to rehash this but has there been any discussion about a time stamp option? And if so, might it be implemented? If not, completely understand the lack of interest!
