Meghan didn’t compete many times and dropped off after marrying Scarpetta. Idk that she was underrated per se, I remember everyone being so obsessed with her when Annie was producing a lot of content with her. She was also on HDP and Kriv at the time, and cam. She hasn’t been active as a competitor for years and almost the same amount of time o social media.
Lauranda competed like once and did 2 shoots with HB. She’s since gone back to coaching cheer and gymnastics (she actually got married like last weekend). Looks like she’s still trains but has no interest in that kind of bodybuilding anymore. But I do remember the same kind of excitement around her becuase she was built and a smokeshow
I was thinking more underrated rn. I haven’t been around the Fbb scene that long so I can’t recall when they were still competing. But when I go into things like chat or social media, I almost never see them
ahh gotcha. i mean i wouldn't say so much underrated as overshadowed maybe. I 100% wish there was more content of Lauranda but she was even more a flash in the pan than most.
I was thinking about this they other day looking through a vintage photo dump of a lot of young-20 something bodybuilders who disappeared and never stuck around (they would have been in their late 20s, early 30s, when Herbiceps and the other sites were coming of age). If they were around now they would have HUGE followings.
Yeah overshadowed is a perfect way of describing it. I think it’s crazy that I rarely see people talking about women like Michelle Maroldo who is one of the goats imo
I didn’t discover Pillow until long after I had gone through a lot of the Wpw library. I wish there had been a little more of her but it seems like she was a really early project for them and evaporated. Some of the video is still around but they didn’t shoot together too much.
Yes I know she was not exactly on the scene for very long. I reckon her fandom while there for a time when she was competing was something that prompted her to stick it out. But realizing that the whole criteria for female bodybuilding was something not quite set in stone. One show would award the title to the most muscular and other times the winner would be one who didn't even have the physique of a fitness pageant contestant. And she pretty much saw that drugs were ruining the sport and as she had once used them, she felt that perhaps she would atone for her sins by trying her damnedest to make bodybuilding free of PEDs.
Basically just fbbs that I almost never see get talked about. First ones that come to mind are Lauranda Nall and Megan abshire
