No way to block dupe uploads?

I've seen so many dupe uploads of pictures, is there really no way to check for these automatically? Of course I Do not suggest google level ai image comparison, but a simple hash-check of uploaded images could go a long way of fighting dupes.

Or if there is no capacity for that there should be a button that helps reporting dupe uploads.

We do actually do hash checking. All the dupes you see on the site are ones where the hash doesn't match. Unfortunately with jpegs it is trivial to change the file just slightly by resaving it so that it is indistinguishable to the human eye but the hash is of course different. Also, I think sites like Instagram host many versions of the same picture, all with different hashes, which doesn't help matters.

There is a "report" button under each image that lets you report duplicate images (choose "Duplicate Image" under report type), or do you mean something different?

Thanks, good to know. I thought the report button was only for inappropriate or copyrighted content.  I never actually clicked on it to see the duplicate option.

I was close to make my own little duplicate finder but that would mean that I'd have to kinda scrape over 10k pages of images and I'm not sure about the rules regarding bots and automations (although @tempp is pretty suspicious to me 😅).

There are several open source programs on GitHub, e.g. imagededup, that will also match "near duplicates".

I thought so for a long time too. Turns out I was wrong.

EDIT: Fixed link. Thanks to Chainer for pointing that out

I'm still not convinced :D tempps upload schedule is crazy, no comments in all these years, and he/she/it is very consistent with the naming of files. Who searches the internet for pictures, downloads them, renames them with the correct first name and uploads them again without a name? There's still probably someone sitting behind the screen and checking the images before uploading and adding new girls to the list, however, I think it's highly automated and appreciate it (although not naming uploads is really annoying to me, especially if the name is known before uploading).

It's definitely possible he's using some automation as a part of his process. There is a person involved as he does occasionally respond to messages though.
