Suggestion: add GIF to the list of tags

GIF's are becoming a big trend now.

Please add GIF to the list of tags.

You're right that there should be a way for the site to identify gifs. I'm not sure that an image tag is the best way, though, because the site ought to be able to identify these automatically, rather than relying on users to do it.

But given the recent (past year or two) surge in uploaded gifs, I like this idea.

You could do both.  Is thre a way to automatically apply tags to animated gifs? Not every gif is animated though.

Yeah, I should be able to automatically detect whether a gif is animated or not.

I haven't looked into it specifically, but it's the type of thing that ought to be possible.

When are you thinking about implementing whatever you're going to do?

Frankly, I don't like those animated GIF: I prefer real good videos than very small (incredibly small) or very brief GIF.

I am not a fan of the gif either. nothing beats a good quality glamour photo. Not even a video for me.
